You work at Ubisoft or something? OK whatever. The point is OTHER game companies manage to make money - even Paradox Interactive, which is notorious for shipping buggy, unfinished pieces of crap. Ubisoft has simply forgotten what it's all about. The board should pay themselves big fat bonuses and just dissolve the company.

Yet somehow in this environment full of pirates, Call of Duty manages to make a billion dollars, Skyrim manages to make over 450 million dollars, etc. Ubisoft is full of shit and their games stopped being good a long time ago. Come to think of it no, SSI was good. But who the hell is Ubisoft? Ahh yes, they wanted to become another EA studio-devouring machine. Well the experiment has failed.

No one who looks at the facts can deny that the Earth has warming and cooling cycles. Just like the ocean levels have changed. Hell 5.3 million years ago the Med didn't exist - it took the rising sea level of the Atlantic ocean to flood it once again. However the anthropogenic global warming argument is moot - in 40 years we run out of oil anyway. Considering that we're at or pretty close to peak oil, we will never pollute as much as we are today. I'm sure the Earth can stand another decade or so of this without amazingly serious doomsday consequences. After that, we're going to be stuck sucking CO2 out of the atmosphere via algae/crops to produce our fuel needs, there will be no "new" CO2.

This absolutely must be the case. Imagine how useless mathematics would be if numbers arbitrarily changed value. Words are the tools we use to communicate. Just because someone thinks he's clever going around and changing the definition of words doesn't actually help progress, it hinders it.

Because there is only a limited amount of gold in the world, and the US already owns a big big chunk of that. Buying more gold would push the price of gold up. Buying oil is doing the same ($100/bbl again yesterday), but there is a lot more oil so the price doesn't go up as quickly.

No - it wasn't until he suggested to the African states (especially oil rich Nigeria) that they drop the US dollar and accept gold or some other commodity in exchange for oil. An idea put forward several years ago by Chavez. An idea that is extremely dangerous to the US, because it's the only nation in the world allowed to print US dollars. Therefore the US gets its oil for free (well, in exchange for bits of paper it takes the trouble of printing up). Having to pay in gold or any other REAL currency that the US has to work for instead of print would severely affect the US economy. THAT is why Khaddafi was "taken out".

Rubbish. Israel is far from defenseless and has its own nuclear arsenal. Iran is not going to threaten Israel at all. They can't afford to take that chance. What they can do, however, is stop being pushed around. Just like North Korea. Suddenly North Korea can shell South Korea and kill South Koreans and get away with "oh, sorry". That's what a nuke gets you. Not having nukes gets you, well, Libya.
