serious development is done on the command line, and not through some gui
Mere command line snobbery. Serious cargo hauling is done with a horse and buggy and not these newfangled horseless carriages... You also seem to be equating development with testing. That's like equating eating with defecating. While one certainly depends on the other, they are hardly interchangeable and synonymous.
It's going to be a marketing thing, where the customer is asked to pay more money and told they're "helping the environment" and Amazon will use that money to buy forest land to tell everyone they've "offset the carbon". Net result is the customer will subsidize land acquisition by Amazon - tax free.
Humans aren't too good at multithreading either. Especially the ones that say they're good at it. Fortunately the human brain isn't just one CPU but a collection of processors, many of which run vital processes autonomously, otherwise we'd be fucked.
There is no easy way to do threading, by its very nature. It's not a language thing, it's a computer thing. If more than one thread is trying to access the same resource at the same time the headaches begin: who goes first, how do you get the threads to accept its place in the queue and "know" when the other is done, etc, etc, etc. Languages that support memory locking of course make things easier but you still have to think the program through very clearly and often you end up with rather unusual and not reproducible bugs.
However I posit that many people who use higher level languages have no actual idea of how a computer works or what they are actually doing, unlike us old timers who grew up with assembler.
Advertising and media.... those entire FIELDS are worthless speculation and bullshit. My sister in law used to have a regional/latam position in a media co and agrees with me. It's all BS. But they'll take the money anyway. And when are Discovery, Disney or Time Warner going to give us another amazing free luxury trip to NY/Galapagos/Marrakesh again?
It's pretty clear what your definition of democracy is. The guy backed by a foreign power. Not the guy people voted for. OK. China, India and Russia should proclaim that in fact Nancy Pelosi is US president.
I agree that profit is an expectation, and this supports everything you said. However it is not and should never be a right. Profit must be earned.
In a free market
Free markets exist only in Economics textbooks and classrooms. Regulation (which skews the barrier for entry against the less wealthy) and cronyism (which virtually slams it in the face for everyone else) ensure that markets are not free. And that's without even considering other little pitfalls like organized crime, etc.
other companies will come along who will innovate and can produce newer, better, different, and/or cheaper solutions and undercut the competition, forcing them to do the same or die.
Provided they survive not only the market and little details like massive advertising campaigns, predatory pricing practices (like a wealthy/more diversified competitor selling at a loss), cartels (where a bunch of previous business model owners do the same), etc, then yes, in theory... this would happen. So how come no one starts a new ISP and undercuts Comcast? How come Netflix can't broadcast "Friends" anymore? Etc. The world is not as cut and dry as Adam Smith and the rest would have us believe.
There are some people who believe they have a right to profit. That doing what they did yesterday is going to work forever, and that they never need change anything at all. Those people don't deserve to stay in business.
If Guaido is "recognized interim president of Venezuela" then surely he doesn't need any help getting stuff into the country he's interim president of... I mean, doesn't he have the power now that Trump and all the US vassals and sychophants have "recognized" him? Can't he just decree stuff - oh wait no, that's only how dictators do things... can't he just use his presidential power to make stuff happen?
Why the fuck do all you people think about genocide? Where did I say genocide? In none of my posts do I mention genocide, idiots. BREED LESS. HAVE FEWER CHILDREN. The population will decline all by itself. That's not genocide.
Bone has no pain receptors. The extreme pain that people associate with bone actually comes from the periosteum, a pain receptor rich membrane that covers every bone. The tearing of this membrane causes pain, and because bones tend to bleed profusely, the swelling underneath this membrane at and around the site of the break also causes a lot of pain. The bone itself however does not cause pain. Since this bone is outside the dinosaur's body one can assume that it's not covered in periosteum.
So you want to do everything you can to avoid actually dealing with the problem. Kinds of like politicians who are so afraid of negative population growth that they actually import "faster breeding" immigrants. What is so horrible about declining populations? Fewer people = less stress on existing infrastructure, less requirement for government services, etc.
Well that's one way to deal with the problem - avoid it and ignore it altogether. I'm not proposing to remove anyone from the world, I'm proposing that we stop adding so many people every year.
It's not a shortage of food that's the problem. It's the environmental impact of producing all that food that's the problem. And I'm not proposing genocide, I'm proposing that people breed responsibly.
Yep, I got a free gift of Epstein-Barr virus and Cytomegalovirus with my blood transfusion(s).
Being able to load a game != play and enjoy a game without graphics issues, framerate issues, disk issues, sound issues... etc

Kind of like driving, really :)
Insert a bunch of NOPs in the loop to give the port time to catch up...
The fun thing about garbage C++ code is you know it's garbage because it doesn't work.
Bad coding is bad coding in any language. It's usually not a language problem it's a programmer problem.

Bill and Melinda Gates are becoming obsolete.
actual real democratic support

(More like somewhere in Langley) "Only special people like YOU can get it for 5 installments of $1.95 billion..."
And with just that, the 10 book series of novels about the time-travelling telepathic black storm warriors is written.

Less need to spend that GDP.
That's when you're happy you're an egg layer.
