How in the heck can people say that the US throws troops around like cannon fodder. Try reading about US civil war or French & Indian war combat.

That was throwing soldiers around like nothing.

Torque has got to have one of the more compelling liscensing plans I have heard of. That and the game can kick in some great fogging, lighting and textures (given the beefy hardware). I remember loading up Tribes 2 on the same machine I had Tribes1. I couldn't even run it in hardware (ok so Tribes2 didn't like my 3dfx card's API). It took a full system upgrade to play that game. Granted, that was an upgrade to a GF2 and a 7200RPM ata100 hard drive from an ATA66 5400rpm.

I would like to see a Tribes engine game. That engine has many more miles left on it.

That said, I don't believe they deserve any more or less scrutiny. I do not believe that the record company should have asked for (read made them) apology. A believe the Dixie Chicks should be allowed to reap the consequences of their voiced opinions. Is that any different from what we should expect?

I think the statement was stupid and shows that no brain cells were ever involved in the process.

I also think that celebrities that do use their platform at the Oscars to promote a "peace is the only way" are living in a dilusional fairy tale land. They would loudly call for liberation if they lived under the boot of Saddam.

Oh wait . . they would have already been raped, tortured, their families tortured and raped, and then killed after the first instance of their vocal dissent to government actions.

So many "pop culture" people are largly ignorant when it comes to foreign affairs that they abuse their platform and show that lack of knowledge to all. Too bad the viewing public is (on average) also as ignorant.

In case a duplicate post in a deep thread is not visible, there is a similar software developed called Covenant Eyes that loggs all sites and then ranks them. That way you or your accountability partner, can see some sites which they may not determine as high ranking, but you and your partner know to be high ranking. This is in contrast to the NetAccountability software with is at their discretion to determine (with your input).

This sw also keeps time stamps to show cumulative time spent at a site. So this could be used for general internet addiction (mostly to http only, but could be applied to other protocols).

Also of note is the fact that the SW cannot be un installed unless a emailed code is used. That isn't to say that you have to get permission from anyone to un install the app. It is an automated system that just send out the code. What it does is log when the code was sent out and how long until the app was re-installed.

Nothing prevents you from using the internet in any way. Just like accountability is supposed to be.
