It's dropping paid dev support. Instead it will become a community run project like Python.
From TFA:
After this development, the NetBeans/Ruby support will become a community project, much like Python support
Netbeans is easily extendable through plugins. It's one of the features I like so much about it. The netbeans.org website even has tutorials for how to go about adding new language support through the use of plugins.
Me? I like the MS ribbon, took about a week filled of cursing, but after that I'm able to navigate much faster. What's on the OO screen shots looks like crap, they should stick with what they currently have, unless that is just a very rough mockup.
I interviewed at a large defense contractor, the office I interviewed at did a 9/80, it sounded great at the time and still does. As for lost sleep... seriously... you work 9-9-9-9-8, 9-9-9-9-off. I doubt the extra hour a day will kill you. If it does, just eat through lunch.
Most of the SIPR machines I have seen/used are connected to the SIPRNet via fiber nics, as opposed to standard ethernet. That could also pose a problem in connecting the two together with the ports right next to each other.
Thats all fine and dandy, but unfortunately some companies can't upgrade their software due to financial constraints or simply because they are forced by some other party into using that software. We run into this problem at my office. We use the Rational Tool Set, for bad or worse, we are forced by the client to use the version we are currently at, which breaks under SP2. Luckily we have a SUS server at work, and the machines are protected otherwise so not installing SP2 isn't that much of a security risk for us.
I would say this is an extremely smart move for Sun. My dad (who is a CPA) read in one of his Magazines that Walmart contributes either 5% or 10%, can't remember, of the US's GNP. That doesn't sound like a lot, but for one company to have that much share is huge.
Kinda reminds me of the Tom Cruise movie where you get arrested because a bunch of people look into the future, or something, and can see you will eventually, one day, committ a crime... so they get you ahead of time for it. Just hope SCO doesn't get a hold of this... it might open more law suits for them.
This book is great... not only as a beginning to PHP and to mySQL, but also for combining the two into an extremely useful tool. I used the book for an independent study I did my junior year of college, and I still pull it out for references even when PHP is not the language that I'm using to interface with my mySQL server. It is great and easy to read.
I just spent 10 days in China travelling around with my Dad visiting pig intestine workshops. Basically what they do is take the raw intestine and turn it into a usable casing for things like sausage and brats. However, a very important drug, which is used in practically every operation performed in the world, is pulled out of this process... Heparin. So why not have them give us other things too.
oh thats right... up until recently Mozilla wouldn't have mattered to them because they were not that well known. However, now that they are getting national press the big dogs come out to bite. Always seems to happen this way... much like what Microsoft did to Redmond Linux and Lindows.
Is it me, or if you changed HP to Microsoft this would actually sound normal to most of us, as wrong as it may be. I'm actually quite dissappointed.
My question is why has it become illegal to expose a threat to security? Isn't this what people do all the time to our government? Just because it puts a black mark on HP or Microsoft or whoever else it happenes too why should the person who was protecting the larger population from a possible threat be punished?

What happens when people then start to drive less? What will get taxed then?

but it worked just fine for me today.
btw this:
You are currently using 0 MB (0%) of your 1000 MB.
is a lot nicer to see than 10% used in hotmail for 6 e-mails, none of which are html or have pics.

seems pretty dead to me... kinda makes you wonder what kind of farm they really have set up for this, just to see what can be brought down.
