When Palm/3Com were losing the Graffiti fight to Xerox, I gave them a published article from a IEEE journal on the "SCANC" system that was almost identical to both Graffiti and the Xerox patent and which should absolutely have been accepted as prior art.
Nope.
The system is broken, and Mr. Dickson and everybody else involved needs to be cashiered at once.
It is the MARKETING and MANAGEMENT teams that take a simple device and make it uselessly complex. You see those pointy-haired goons can't stomach the idea of losing even one sale because their easy-to-use and appropriate device looks less capable than the one with the zillion buttons.
Doesn't always happen though; I helped design NT's "Delegate" Digital Announcer back in the late 80s and it had ONE button on it, and I designed that one button to never, ever fail. It was just a paddle -backed button captured in the front panel with tines and a spring. When you pushed the button, it interrupted a light beam (we used one of those cheap LED/CdS devices commonly used to count shaft rotations) and turned the device on or off.
The rest of the functionality was all audio menus and very simple.
Of course, as soon as we had pallets of the things in hand, NT decided that they didn't know how to market a consumer product and ordered them all destroyed, which was done by driving a skiploader over them all and then sending them off to a landfill.:-(
And that is why you do not see simple and appropriate products anywhere...
What he did was wrong. The reason there are so many iPhone-like phones now rather than them appearing late next summer is because of the head's-up sites like provided. That represents millions in lost revenue for Apple.
I know, I know, I'm going to be modded to Troll again for not siding with "the little guy" - but what virtue would that be if "the little guy" is obviously in the wrong?
Throughout history there have been gold backed currencies. Of course that means there was no inflation ever, right?
If you think that you are stupider than Ron Paul, because even he does not believe this. But he does believe that you Marks will continue to give him millions.
You can support Personal Liberty, and I do, without wanting a Corporatocracy, which RP does. (Even if he thinks he doesn't, he is advocating changes that would put Monsanto in charge of Agriculture, and Time/Warner in charge of Education.)
No, this was one of you crazy RP supporters, and absolutely this came from his campaign; The language of the Spam looked just like something they put out.
I know you Libertarians think that any act at all is justified to get your ends, but we all know how that played out in the mid-20th Century don't we? And by people who professed to believe the same things you lunatics do.
My got, this was not flamebait!? Who modded it that way? This was a legit critique of IPv6 and I think is spot on. We don't need it now. We MIGHT need it when most humans are living on other planets, but surely there is plenty of time for that?
NO computer screen displays more than THREE colors. Red, Green, and Blue. All colors on the display are made by three subpixels that vary in intensity of those colors. If I make a color on the screen by extending that technique into pixel space that is no different than the RGB subpixels.

I shouldn't admit to this, but I also know 1401 Autocoder...
...you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

It is still a bad idea 15 years later.
I honestly don't think it will ever go anywhere.
He's lucky Apple didn't ruin him.

Suckers.

I think you need to examine what he has REALLY said, and what his voting record REALLY is.
Hint; He pretends to have an anti-war voting record, and this is a fscking lie.
My wife says the mere thought creeps her out!
Gold based currencies can inflate and have throughout history.
You want to tie the dollar to something real? Then tie a dollar to five minutes of labor.
Amen.
I like their focus on the Gold Standard.
Hilarious.
There is not enough gold on the whole planet to cover the money now in circulation, much less the Nine Trillion dollar debt!
Ron Paul is not sane.
I really don't think that MS, at least as the company we have come to loathe, will survive Vista.
I don't think there is anything coming ever again other than a series of "fixes" for Vista that will only make it more unreliable.

The WELL, or Whole Earth 'Lectronic Link was a forum were people were doing what we would now call blogging but LONG before the WWW existed.
God that takes me back!

I hate stupid people and their lawyers.
Just another way of converting electrical energy into a form that can be used later.
We need to have a source of reliable cheap electricity to make the aluminum. And we don't at this time.
You know, there are other ways to deal with the Mafia than paying their extortion.
...you probably couldn't use the information anyway.
It was called a ROM Patch.
And isn't this the WHOLE reason for Altera and Xilinx???
Period.
Those magnets are the best they could make them.
As an ex science fair participant, I cannot begin to say how cool this is.
