From http://www.rogueamoeba.com/ to convert directly to MP-3 without using up one of my CD burns. Then I can load my iTunes into my Creative RAVE-MP. I just never saw the need to carry ALL of my music with me all the time. Just what I want for the drive I am about to take.
And I imagine on almost anything that implements the right libraries and hooks. I think it is up to the advocates of a particular OS to port in the desktop, not the desktop developers.
They eat the same sorts of fish we eat, and we have literally stripped the seas of all edible fish. And I mean that literally. We are maybe ten years away from the fishing fleets having to be kept in port because there is nothing anywhere worth the cost of running them to catch it.
The toothed whales will disappear too for the same reason.
You abuse their network with your modem software. They have a network designed for messaging, and you want to send huge files over it. I don't blame them for wanting to cripple a capability that they never wanted to sell you.
I've said it before. The whole reason it is worthwhile is the ability to get clips of news shows and other similar things that I never watch and never record for myself. The amateur stuff on the site, with a few minor exceptions, that does not violate copyright also does not get me to look.
I pride myself on keeping old machines happily doing the day-to-day work of my business. My OS choices;
Linux (Debian)
MacOS-X
Windows 2000
And I see zero reason to upgrade.
Another old RSX-11 Hacker! Excellent!!!
I agree with that assessment.
Ordered a chew-proof dog bed. Lifetime guarantee.
Well, it wasn't totally chew proof, and I emailed them to ask for a replacement, cover and it was here in three days.
Also Logitech. They replaced my marble mouse trackball twice when buttons failed.
I'm assuming that whatever computer they are using already came with some form of Windows.
I would not force Linux on them, but there is a lot of Windows OSS;
AbiWord first of all.
Gnumeric spreadsheet
VideoLAN Client (VLC)
GAIM multi-protocol IM software
GZIP file compression tool
wxBASIC BASIC Interpeter or similar
Games! This whole list; http://osswin.sourceforge.net/games.html
I think this would about do it and still fit on a modest USB stick.
What do you think?
They are no more a religion than Al Queyda is.
They are dangerous, and their assets should be frozen and their leaders arrested as terrorists.
No words.
Yes I meant Mac! OOOPS!
Thats what happens when I post while also talking on the phone....
>>blush
I bet the Windows and Linux rate IS zero unless Word Macro Botnets exist.
Not a boardwalk... A big plexiglass tube.

Nope! Only ONE IP address for the whole country.
...they were talking of the FAILURE of iTunes just a month a go!

You get what you pay for. Usually.
The Pirates, of course, buy nothing and screw the artists. (And yes, I know the artist's cut is tiny, but Pirates want it to be ZERO.)
I buy about one CD a quarter through iTunes, but when it was new, I filled in my collection.
That would be Kenny Richey.

Try these folks; IPod Rescue who are the same as Powerbook Rescue and who fixed my clamshell iBook in 2002 and it has stayed fixed!

My name is in my email address. Most people with above-room-temerature IQs noticed that...
Seems to me that they get US to do most of the editing... ;-)
Happened JUST that way with my former employer Ikadega; We all got pink slips just before Thanksgiving.
1. Free the patent. (It is a patent of prior art anyway.)
2. Release the database of all CDs more than a year old.
He'll still have a year's worth of proprietary data at any time, and open source programs would have a usable means of getting CD metadata.
That is what I am asking him to do. Assuming that he really does want to make this right, of course.
