It's hosted on solaris machines!! haha! security holes?? security holes?! openssh is a joke, I've patched it twice recently. the only time I needed to patch my FreeBSD systems was the telnetd issue, and nobody uses telnet anymore, because they're all using your bug-ridden software.

Okay, Theo left NetBSD and formed OpenBSD. I'm not sure, but I think Theo is kind of a jerk.. Similar to some people's views of Bernstein. =) OpenBSD is *not* the most secure OS. They claim this because they "audit" all their code. That's why we still find off-by-one bugs is openssh, etc. Yah, right. If it's audited, their auditers suck worse than their programmers. The FreeBSD volunteers are *VERY* hardworking individuals. Consider Linus maintaining the Linux kernel source, and all of the userland apps. The *entire* OS. That's an awful lot of work. Not to say that Theo's crew doesn't work hard, but they're *way* behind FreeBSD. OpenBSD doesn't even support SMP yet.

Because FreeBSD uses a different liscence than the GPL. They use the BSD liscsnce. It's basically the same, but more flexible for developers. You can use their work, compile it, and distribute it without source and make money off it. Hence OSX.
