Yeah that was me. I knew it (Matrix Rev) would suck really, really bad. But I loved the first movie (hated the second) so I went and saw it anyways. It sucked really, really bad. Duh.
Fortunately for the movie industry, we consumers aren't very bright.
The big problem with today's rechargeables is you have to plan ahead. When the rechargeables in my Rio are dead I need to have a fresh pair charged. If I've forgotten to put a pair in the charger... ARGH.
I still cannot believe that adults are buying non-rechargeables these days. Then again, I can't believe all these fricking morons who drive giant over-sized SUVs and pick-ups either. Environment-friendliness seems to be dead (and I live in the Pacific Northwest, where I would expect better!)
Variety said the VOD offering will expand that to allow for up to three physical DVD or digital downloads at a time.
Yeah... how are they gonna restrict you to three downloads at a time? Good luck with that, my friend! As we've seen just today, no protection scheme will ever be anywhere close to secure.
When I was in high school, just before the national anthem I used to go up to the Qnx machines and enter a quick program to sleep 5 minutes and then start beeping (I forget if I used some kind of playsound API or just printed control chars).
I was the teacher's pet but he never caught me and he was always REALLY pissed when it went off.
Picking nits... no you don't pay for Tivo to skip commercials. You could stop your Tivo subscription and still skip commercials (at least you could with Series 1). What you pay Tivo for is the guide service.
Personally I think the entire industry is a joke. Should Michael Jackson be worth hundreds of millions for his art? I dunno... seems whacked. But then again a lot of our society is whacked if you look at it in a critical light.
I'm still leaning toward multiple systems and some kind of FTL though. They visited too many worlds and from what I recall from the intro the implication for me was that there were many systems involved in the "empire" thingy.
It's actually not really that impressive. According to Terraserver my street doesn't exist and I live in a tree. The terraserver image for my place is from 1998 - not exactly current.
Of course now that I've looked at the image I have this huge feeling of guilt for all the trees that got knocked down to build my house. Oh well...
The problem is that the spin is that NPR is selecting Real because it's now the better choice. That may or may not be true but it's pretty tough to trust the opinion of someone who's being paid to use a product.
That said, this is America. People buy shit from companies that pay for endorsement all the time, so maybe there's something wrong with me.

I agree. By the books I'm sure I count as a "rich" (upper middle class, anyways) straight Christian (non-practicing) but this guy makes my skin crawl every time he opens his trap.
But when I look at the alternatives I'm left with a sense of hopelessness. The world is going to hell in a handbasket... in fact we're already mostly there I think.
"But considering that they only exist to make money"
I have to take issue with this part of your statement. Name one corporation that doesn't exist "just to make money".
Welcome to reality. This is not some drug-induced 60s utopia commune. Personally I think it kind of sucks that the entire planet is more or less 100% driven by the almighty dollar but that's the hand we've been dealt.
Depends on your broker. About a month ago I tried to short SCOX at Ameritrade and could not. Then I moved to Fidelity and was able to short some. Of course I'm about even on them at this point...
Maybe someone told Lucas that "The Creeping Fear" is a lame-ass name? ;)
"Matrix Revolutions was awe-inspiring."
Barkeep, I'll have 10 of whatever he's having!
Revolutions sucked ass. I hate myself for going to see it. The Matrix (the first movie) is forever ruined for me. Argh!

"Movie twits go to the opening, boast about the movies to their friends, who might go friday."
:)
Some of us folks who are *really* old actually wait 2 weeks and see a cheap Sunday matinee. I'll be 35 (going on 72) in 2 days.
/agree 100%

Jesus F'ing Christ! As a Canadian living/working in the US I guess I won't be using iTunes any time soon! I had no idea - this is pathetic.
"information wants to be free"
or should we say
"people don't want to pay for shit"

Interesting discussion! Thanks for the pointer.

Moot point now, I suppose!
Are we talking about the same Firefly? I can't quote anything but I really, REALLY don't think it took place all in one solar system!
Fabulous show, though! I loved it.

And they have your credit card number or banking information, too! THOSE BASTARDS! ;)
That's a very imaginative response to dreck!
But I suspect you can't educate someone that stupid...
The reason is: "And they even offered to serve the audio for free online, which defrays an expense we'd otherwise have to cover."
My take on the article: they wouldn't have considered Ogg if they weren't offered free hosting.

It's no worse than sausage or hot dogs, really.
As I get older (and wiser?) I find myself more and more repulsed by the idea of eating ground up mystery meat.
Wine gums!
They're a little bit like ju-jubes but you probably don't know what those are either, heathen!

Apparently I do not! :)
Hm... ok yeah I kinda get it. I'm sure sure why this computer system has actors but you're right the rest is rather clever.
:)
Mod my original post "idiot - RTFA slower" please.
