Hell the majority of the US enjoys worthless crap like gameshows and "reality" shows that encourage people to stab each other in the back. That's pretty successful. I don't see the worst in "time travel" stories as NOT being better that that kind of garbage.

Besides, Star Trek 4 was one of the most successful Star Trek movies ever. It brought in more non-fans than any other movie in the series.

It was entertaining. It brough in non-fans. THere is no reason not to like it other than elitism. I even like "cheap laughs" episodes.

It is, after all, just a TV show. It's just one that I don't happen to want to see go away simply because the network is filled with incompetant fuckwits, and many of the supposed fans of the "franchise" are too busy displaying what Elite Conneseurs of SF they are to just shut the fuck up and enjoy the show.

Probably because SoE inspires that kind of hatred in those that aren't so blinded by addiction that they defend SoE like a crack whore trying to keep her abusive pimp out of jail because he's the only one who will give her drugs.

Just look at any thread about the character slot thing, and you'll see some of the most sycophantic idiots that ever lived praising SoE for taking more money out of their pockets for a feature that should have been in the game from the start. A feature that STILL doesn't compare with any other MMORPG out there not published by Sony.

Common arguement by those who think charging more for 4 more slots is ok: "Well you only got ONE slot in SWG, so 4 is really more than you need". Comparing one piece of shit move by SoE with another. Honest to god, these people make crack whores look RATIONAL.

  19. Here's something I'm glad I found ... on EverQuest 2 Things You Wish You Knew · · Score: 3, Interesting

before I got billed for my first month...

Since release, people have been asking for more than 4 character slots per account (that's right, not 4 per server, which is still a little low, 4 per ACCOUNT). SoE didn't comment for a month.
A couple days before the new billing cycle, someone discovered that when he switched to the $22/month "Station Pass" (which gives access to all SoE games a person might own, except for SWG) he got an additional 4 slots. After about a day of debating on the boards, one of the Mods formally announced that yes, they would be adding 4 character slots, but only for the people who paid an additional $7/month.

I'm what's known as an alt-o-holic, I like to experiment with the diffent classes. I'm not going to validate SoE's decision to gaff people who want more than 4 characters. Hell, when I switch to WoW next week, I can get something like 8 characters per SERVER if I really wanted to. For the same price as the BASE EQ2 subscription.

I'm guessing that SoE really didn't want to announce this "special option" (which isn't so special for those like me who had no interest in any of their other games) until after the billing cycle, so they could get another $15 from the people they knew would quit. Yea I"m out the $50 for the game, but I'm not throwing new money after bad, I cancelled my account.

I'm certain that Sony will try to get at least $30/player by mid year next year for a "reasonable" level of features.

Same old Sony. I should have known better. Never again.

I have one of the original X-arcades. Great piece of equipment. I imagine the difference in price would account for "assembly, testing, etc" in addition to the nice logo.

As to the weight of the solo unit, MDF is pretty heavy stuff, even at that size. 11 pounds sounds about right for the single player unit.
