It's 'bringing together' trolls and extremists and criminals with impressionable, susceptible, naive people, radicalizing them, misinforming them to the point of making stupid life-decisions, and in some cases driving people to suicide because their lives and reputations have been ruined.
The problem is there is no other 'neighborhood' any more where people can go on the Internet; Facebook and Twitter, mainly, have grown their 'neighborhood' to the point where there really isn't much of anywhere else to go.
