  2. System O' Drives on Secure Hard Drive Deletion Appliance? · · Score: 1

At out office we have a machine that has different rail sets for our drives (which are already in carriers - some LianLi others StorCase), so we just lock them in and boot off of a floppy (mini-linux distro homebrew). We then 'dd /dev/hdx' a couple of times before we take a radio shack magnet to them. Afterwards we dismantle the drives and either smach the glass platters or make frisbee/wall decorations with the metal platters.

Not sure if this is something you can use, but it has come in handy for us. I imagine with SCSI you could have an external tower with rails in them for sliding the drives in and out without having to crack the case each time.

  5. Milestek on Rack Mounted PCs for the Home User? · · Score: 1

I recommed milestek (www.milestek.com) for the rack. I have one at home, and we have 4 in the office. They are well made and competitivly priced. They even have half racks and sell the individual rails when it comes time to extend that half rack to a full...

I believe they also sell enclosures.

  8. Go with Satellite on Cable TV Versus Satellite TV? · · Score: 3, Informative

I've only had one outage in the year and half that I have had Dish Network, and that was only during a bad snow storm. I've heard other complaints about losing signal during rain, or cloudy days, but have not experienced them myself.

My parents have Comcast and it glitches out all the time, with the screen pulsating with lines across the screen. They've also had random outages for no apparent reason. Comcast just replaces the reciever hoping to fix the problem, but it never does. I've also been told by Comcast installers that most of the equipment they're using is refurb and they have troubles all the time.

  9. Re:It's time FOR A REVOLUTION!!! on Disney Wins, Eldred (and everyone else) Loses · · Score: 1

I agree, to a point. I think it's just time to throw out the volumes of laws we have created and kick out all the politicians, corrupt or not and start over. Let those who truly want to help this country run again for office. Let more people step up as leaders and stop paying these damned official insane amounts of money for something that should be a part time job. They're obviously not worth what we're paying them, when they bend over their constituents for a royal screwing. time after time.
I don't think we should limit what the people spend, only the corporations, which do not hold citizenship, do not vote. This would just be another restriction on the rights of those who choose.

Copyright law is just one the many corrupt laws - it just seems to get more press.

I don't think anyone has thought the FBI to be beyond reproach for a long time. I believe most people mistrust their government and it's executives . Stories like this only reinforce that fact.

Would it not be possible to come up with a second net? I know it would probably be a lot of work, resources, cash, etc but may well be worth it in order to let them own the old net and have a new free net.
