    ... a good powerpoint viewer. One that supports all powerpoint slideshows perfectly, no matter how much multimedia is embedded. A lot of home users receive annoying powerpoint presentations with some stupid joke or something, and they LIKE it.

    They aren't supported very well in linux. Some are, many are not. Especially when sound is embedded. And Average Joe will open a presentation, notice it isn't what it is on Windows, and then believes Linux is no good.

    He did not contradict himself: if you have 5 brain cells, you will never tell your pin code to anyone you don't trust. If for some reason somebody is able to look at you barcode for a minute, he might be able to memorize the numbers under it, and with them that someone could reproduce the barcode. If the person is smart enough to lose those numbers from the barcode (the machine does not need them), then it's another story.

    At the keyrate of the last days of RC5-64 it would take even less than the predicted duration of RC5-64 when it started using RC5-56 keyrates as a measurement. This is inaccurate since the cores had to be rewritten to support RC5-72, but developers said they could get 99% of the speed of RC5-64 into RC5-72.

    It's all about the Mom benchmark: she could never, EVER muster up the courage send me e-mail from overseas using the 'intuitive' interfaces found on a Linux box.
    My mom couldn't send an email with Outlook without me explaining 5 times either. I am sure she could have learned to do the same in Evolution or something like that too. If only it was possible to switch them to linux... damn those banking and accouting apps they need windows for.

    KDE and Gnome are both a little too bloated. They try to pull users away from Windows with even more useless junk than Windows itself has.
    Get yourself a decent Window Manager (like IceWM, fluxbox (a little more advanced), qvwm, ...), and it will be a lot faster.

    This doesn't apply for all products though. Don't get me wrong, i think ads do work, but some products can sell good without ads (if their product is good).

    E.g. here in Belgium i have never seen a commercial for an AMD (i seem to rememeber an intel ad though). But for some reason, lots of people know AMD exists, and they make decent products.

    Well, his server is the webserver of the biggest (and the only one providing cable) provider here in Belgium. So it's not only his server, but a lot of others too. Don't think Pandora (the ISP) will like this :-)

    I tought /. ran off 7 servers or so... a couple servers that do the server side scripting and a couple servers where the databases run on.
