Learning IPv6?

When i look at the output of ifconfig, i notice my network cards have IPv6 addresses like fe80::248:54ff:fe6e:f6c2/10. Now, that makes me wonder, where did it get that address from (i've never said to use that address) and what's with the/10 in the back? I thought i read that/x means the same on IPv6 than it did on IPv4. I'm confused....
So if anybody finds me a site wich explains such things in an easy to understand manner, i would be delighted.
I was wondering, on what are the movies based? Are there any novels on wich the movies are based? Are there novels for the probably never coming Star Wars Episodes 7, 8 and 9?
I had a friend here in Belgium who was able to connect to his provider multiple times over his *DSL modem. Every connection had a seperate IP-address and was capped, but if you are smart enough to get some load-balancing done over those connections, that shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Probably this was only a flaw in the provider's setup though, and it wouldn't work on every provider.
But if Microsoft didn't create the SMB/CIFS protocol, is it then legal for them to put some sort of agreement that there can't be any GPL versions of the software?
I don't know if this makes sense, i don't know the full story, but just a thought.
Napster might be dead, but i don't think many persons suffer from that, there are lot of replacements for Napsters nowadays (IMHO, too many). I'm only waiting to get something like AudioGalaxy for (divx)movies, then i'd wish i was on a really fast connection....:-)
When the main server hears back from Machine A,
it is a tiny packet saying keys in this entire range have
all been checked and returned negative. One small
packet instead of hundreds from each of the
individual machines that actually processed them.
This is impossible since the whole subspace of Machina A isn't done by 1 user but by a lot of users. The keymaster needs this information on each block to be able to construct stats. So even with the personal proxies, each block has to be reported back to the keymaster seperate.
"The basic idea is that the brain can remember faces better than it can remember letters and numbers."
Unless you're like me, i seem to forget faces constantly. When i'm at the store to buy meat, and the lady who serves me is away 2 seconds, i already forgot what she looked like.
And i think that i'm not the only one, i'm not THAT much of a freak:-)
I'm running Mandrake 8.1 here on my personal use machine (i have a little server running SuSE). Is it worth it for me to upgrade? Or should i wait another couple of versions?
I think YOU were reading all these comments wrong. They say that Linux can just as easy be updated, but, if one prefers, can also be fine tweaked by expert users who know what they are doing, and that's a feature we miss in Windows.
Also the possibility to actually check what the program is doing is a great + for Linux (and some other OSs ofcourz)
I rather install many patches with short intervals then installing one big *fix-it-all* patch with long intervals. I like it better if a lot of patches are available, it proves that there are people actually working to remove the bugs and security holes.
Agreed, Mandrake is easy, but i think it uses too much resources (i liked it, but threw it away because of performance).
Now i'm using SuSE on 2 computers, 1 with GUI, 1 without. Both works fine, and is relatively easy.
I never really tried another distro which you can compare to today (i've tried an ancient version of Slackware long time ago...)
For the people who really can't get satisfied with any distro, they can try Linux From Scratch, but you already need some linux installed for it. (or you can try with one of those "Linux on a cd" thingies, never tried those.)
Choose Natalie Portman.
:-)
I would, anyday...

And if you use Internet Explorer (yeah, let the flames come), you could download the Google Bar, so you should not even go to google itself.

Blinking both eyes would be a possibility, only 1 slight problem, one will do that a lot while working on a pc....

he said in no more than 30 words, and you went up to 43. Let us take -13 of your karma for the extra words.... :-)
Jon might be able to use this to not allow the pizzaman for garfield in.... :-)
Well, just a thought....

They probably will not be able to guess the first two characters, since they will always end their tries with a newline... :-)
... a beowulf cluster of those loops... :-)

I don't think he claimed that it doesn't exist. I think he just said he would like to have one, "just for fun".
And it would probably be a better computer too. I thought that the PS2 contained a 350Mhz processor, so any new pc would be better than the PS2.
