Since we know that the patents system is out of control, is there anything we, as american citizens, can do about it? Whenever I talk to a friend about it they agree with me that something should be done about it. What can we do? Start to actively campaign?
Not sure if you're aware of this, but there was a Dragon Warrior 7 that was released for the playstation. It's still being sold at the Toys R Us near me.
I see the DMCA as an excuse for companies to be lazy. It allows them to take legal action after their own rather loose security in the company has leaked some information. At least, that's how it seems to be used in this case. If companies tighten security, problem solved.
I would not recommend to ANYONE to see Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind. There were parts of it that were 'ok.' Overall my friends and I found it rather boring (most of which really enjoyed Princess Mononoke). It has nothing on Ghost in the Shell. Don't waste you're time on Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind.
If this does go into affect and shrink wrap licenses are legally binding here in the US. Does that mean if I want to be able to code freely I would be forced to move to another country? I'm not completely against that idea, as a college student I don't have an established career yet. I'd prefer to stay in the US though, but what would I be able to code at the time of graduation?
All of the patents that are already floating around, and then I can't add features to a program that are already in another program?
Would something like this apply if I was to look at screenshots of another program too?
is there a beam wars port to the PC? I used to play it on my mac, but that is not in working condition anymore. I don't have space for it anymore, either. If you know of any, link please. =D
I've recently done a massive search for a source that has cheap anime over the internet. The best place that I found was www.animecastle.com. They are usually $7 below list price on most DVDs. This is better than anything i've seen on any other site.
I haven't been able to order anything from them yet, but i think some of my friends have. Most of my friends are really into anime, and those that aren't, I convert, hehe. If you're looking for release dates on certain things www.animeondvd.com is a good site for that. Then there is www.animenation.com that has a very large selection of anime. On most the anime sites you can also find FF stuff. I got a black mage (vivi) plushy. hehe. Hope this helps.
If the CD bends, wouldn't gravity have an affect on it? In which case even with an adapter the ends of the disk would be lower than the middle, especially after in the player for a while and somewhat heated. How many CD players do you know of that can play bend disks?
I would like to see the dome they put around the country to block all satelite transmissions. This would be very interesting, seeing them try to block services like DirectPC. I feel sorry for the poor people.

can someone post a mirror to the downloads? The site is painfully slow.
never before has a slashdot article helped me on such a personal level.
So this means i'll have to take classes like biology and english to meet girls. bah.

I don't think we need to worry about the open source industry infringing on this patent.
