You have my sympathy! I'll admit that security is, by definition, a PITA, but it seems ridiculous to gripe about a 15 minute timeout. In my office we take that for granted. In fact, I've known people who will say something if they see you walking away from your PC without locking it, even with the timeout.
On the other hand, we had a U.S. presidential candidate singing "Let's Bomb Iran". Why the double standard?
When our guy sings about "bomb Iran", we gasp in horror and elect the other guy. When their guy talks about wiping Israel off the map, they elect him with thuderous applause.
Many of the areas without grocery stores also have high crime, which tends to discourage businesses from moving in, or drives them away if they were there to begin with.
Agreed. Technically, I have a Linux computer in my living room. It's called a Tivo. But other than the kernel, it has nothing in common with the Ubuntu distro I used to run on my desktop.
- You shouldn't have posted the pictures on the internet - You shouldn't have taken pictures, - You shouldn't have been involved in whatever the situation was in the first place.
2. I didn't take those pictures, my ex-GF did. 1. She also posted them, without my consent. 3. Yes, it was probably a bad idea to let her get me drunk and take all those incriminating pictures of me, but one doesn't think about such things 24/7.
BTW, these days, many people don't have the luxury of working for "decent" employers. And it really sucks when the Born-Again Christian who controls the hiring for XYZ LLC decides not to hire you after seeing those FB pictures.
My friend lives in another state. Mailing cash isn't a good idea. And if the mow guy comes when I'm home, I'll pay in cash, but often that doesn't happen. And neither of them are set up for "bank transfers" (I don't think my friend even has a bank account).
That is why it is often banned from being used to sign your name on documents
Signing my name on documents is where I DO use cursive. It doesn't have to be readable, it just has to look like my signature on other documents. OTOH, the notes I used to leave on cow-orker's desks before email were in print, since they had to be able to read the damned things.
I own a checkbook. I write checks to the guy who mows my lawn, and I wrote a check to friend for a birthday present. I probably write less than a dozen checks for the whole year, but they're not dead yet.
Depends on what people do with their netbooks. If they just surf the web and check MyFace, Firefox will work just as well on ARM Linux as it does on their Win desktop. If they plan to use it as a pint-sized laptop, they might be SOL.
When my car's "check engine" light comes on, there is almost always a real problem. When my computer pops up its warning, it might be something serious or it might mean I need to enter a password, or it might be attention-whoring from my AV program. To be useful, PC warnings have to be rare events that only happen when your machine really does need attention, not things that happen all the time.

It would help Iran's case if ImmaDinnerJob didn't keep talking about the Holocaust, or wiping Israel off the map.

Still living, but Saddam treated them like Shite.

But I doubt that even they could make IE less secure than it already is.

Uranus doesn't get sunlight, but I'm sure the turbulent gasses generate some heat.
What? That was a serious statement!

A VERY poor one. It's not really that hard to duplicate my signature, especially if the forger has been drinking.

I used to sign with an "X", but someone from Alabama accused me of forgery.
Nah! COBOL is celebrating. It's the COBOL programmers that are bemoaning. Or at least moaning.
Could have been worse. For some reason, my eyes first saw "prostitute". I can see why one wouldn't want to do THAT before the law.
What about TV? Especially in OJish cases where every TV on the planet is blaring about it!

Windows == Earth? Somehow, I always thought of it as Uranus.
I'm sure it IS a good idea to throw away any cellphone or laptop that has any Symantec product installed.
I'm sure it was fun during the actual fucking. It's the 18-21 years AFTER the fucking that wasn't much fun.
And think about what it will be like after you view pr0n! Totally, ewwww!
My laptop would be a PITA to transport. A netbook would fill the gap between a too-bulky laptop and a not-functional-enough iPhone.

I'm not a creationist, but looking at the people around me, I see very little evidence that mankind has evolved.
