Odd. The only time I see Vista's security features is when FF upgrades itself. Certainly not enough to annoy me.

Using Gmail for file storage, last time I checked, was neither supported or even condoned -- hence the reason you need third party apps to do it.

IME, those third party apps tend to break everytime Google makes a change. I don't really blame either Google or the third party app-maker for that, but the fact is, using Gmail for file storage is like playing Russian roulette with your data.

Without a DVR, there is zero chance that I'll see any show that doesn't air between 7-10PM on weekdays. For that matter, the odds of me seeing shows that ARE between 7-10PM is slim, since I'm often doing other stuff too. From their POV, they'd probably be better off with me seeing bits of pieces of commercials at FF speed than with me seeing nothing at all.

Agreed! Someone in one of the games I play has been playing the game for a long time and developed a reputation as an "elder statesman". I picture him as a distingushed older man with a wise voice. But, IRL he's 15, and presumably has a teen voice. I just ignore his RL age, but that would be a lot harder with voice.

IME, it's possible to avoid bank fees, but it's also easy, especially for poor people, to get socked by them. My main bank charges if I go below a minimum balance, or if I make too many withdrawals on my savings account in a 3 month period. I haven't gotten either of those fees in years, but I used to get them when my finances were in the toilet.

If we assume that there has been intelligent life somewhere in the galaxy, not necessarily one continuous civilization or species, for at least half of that time and that at some point one of these species developed a barely practicable interstellar drive, able to travel at say 1/1000 light speed, then the fact that we are not already part of some vast galactic empire tends to suggest, with high probability, that such travel is simply not possible or at best not practicable since there has already been enough time elapsed for this (the colonization of the Milky Way) to have happened at least a couple of times over.

How do you know we're NOT in the middle of a vast galactic empire? We're probably one of a large number of planets listed under the "No intelligent life" category.
