Ditto, but the price is a factor too. I MIGHT see it in the bargin theater, and I'm sure I will buy the DVD, but I am NOT going to pay $$ for tickets, $$ for refreshments, and sit through a bunch of crappy commercials.
Hi I'm from the police, mind if I come and fix up your house security, it'll take a while and will be quite dusty and noisy so if you can just give me your keys and go out for a few hours...
Of course. After all, if you can't trust the police, who can you trust?
AFAIK, the blogger's errors have never started a holy war. Most people realize that a blog is not neccesarily reliable. However, they think that mainstream media is, though after cBS & SnoozeWeek, that may be changing.
This happens on a regular basis, People that drive happily at the speed limit continue that highway speed through construction zones (did they miss all the orange barrels?) and get pissy about the people that dared to slow down in the construction zone and not drive 70mph 3 feet from the construction workers
That's one of my personal gripes! There's a stretch of "orange barrel" highway that I hate to drive on. It's safe enough at the posted speed (45 MPH), but the other fools want to go 70+ down one narrow lane (the other lane is closed) with road crews working.
IIRC, Windows 3.X still had an easy enough install. It did require multiple floppies (I think it took 6), but other than that it was easy. Win95 was when it started to get hairy, but by then MS owned the pre-install market.
Did Unix ever run on the 8088? When I got my first computer, 286s were for businesses, not home users, and 386s were only used by large, rich businesses.
If we were in an environment where poor eyesight would kill you, then yes, if glasses hadn't been invented everyone would have perfect eyesight. The flip side is, the population would be smaller because the people with poor eyes would be dead.
So, while some conservatives might argue against gene therapy (and only a very few would, I can assure you, being one myself), you misunderstand why they would. Mostly, the ones that do are just concerned that we might screw some people up pretty badly doing the early research.
That's only part of my concern. Suppose they find a way to give someone increased strength, reflexes, senses, and intellegence, but the treatment causes stress on the body that might kill you painfully in 20-30 years? Do you trust the evil, greedy corporations to do the right thing? Or will they use it to increase their short-term profits and screw the fools who start dropping dead after the treatments?
Minor nitpick: Wolverine's adamantium claws aren't a mutation. His mutation is a healing factor, which allowed him to survive the adamantium implanted in his body.
Well, normally I wouldn't, but he seemed like a nice man, and he promised he'd return my card after he was finished with it.
Thanks! My banking password is ********.
Of course I gave them my PIN number. I even included my mother maiden name. Do I look stupid enough to forget such important things?
Not only are they unstable, but they're way too small to travel through. But they are a nice place for the worms to live.
And how much disposable income does the average Chinese/Indian/SE Asian have compared to the average American?

That assumes that they have "work" to get to. No job == no money == no car repair.
I hate to tell you this, but our music sux, and our movies aren't much better! That leaves us with one.
Slow response time has nothing to do with 911. The local number would be just as slow.
The movie theaters suk! They're too crowded, noisy, and expensive! But I won't DL the bootleg copy either. I'll wait for the DVD.
Agreed! Among other things, they haven't bathed during that time!
Safari's good, but it's not cross-platform. FF rulez on the x86.

They don't scream "Eeeek". They scream "Ieeeee"!
A start button? No wonder it has software problems! Obviously it's powered by Windows!

Judging by your sig, you have nothing to worry about.
Did Xenix run on an 8088? I thought it was for the 286.

My first machine WAS a 8Mhz 8088, you insensitive clod!
