    The problem is, the SSN is an identifier, and people treat it like it was a password! Allowing someone access because they know your SSN is as dumb as me using "Cro Magnon" as my password. *changes password*

    1) It creates MORE government, not less. Republicans are supposed to be for smaller government, but this flies in the face of that policy


    The Republicans WERE for smaller government - when the Democrats were in charge. Now that the Repubs are in charge, they're just another bunch of Big Government hypocrites.

    Then why didn't Apple do it? It's common sense to default to more security. If the default is "fsck me now", how is Apple better than M$?

    When I ran Win95, it would BSOD 5+ times a day. Once, it went down 15 times! I counted them! When we switched to NT4, it went down several times a week, instead of several times a day. So far, I haven't seen a BSOD on XP.

    1. God is eternal, he is the exception to all the rules. You just have to assume it to be true without a shred of proof or logic.

    2. You are a stinking atheist commie and unworthy to be included in our discussion.

    Minor nit: My bank is open from 9-5, two hours longer than the times you mention. Of course, since I'm at work from 8-5:30, and can't get to the bank during lunch, I'm still screwed.

    Actually, the OP had a point. The GPL may have predated Microsoft, but it wasn't popular until M$ had driven everyone else out. If someone knows he can't compete with M$, there's less reason NOT to release the source.
