Thank you for saying this. This is pure revisionist BS. After his FIRST election they were saying this. They spent 8 years doing nothing but obstructing him at every twist and turn and he still offered to work with them more than he should've.
That said, it takes a huge lack of self awareness to say that he had to work with reps that were elected and not realize the president was also elected according to the wishes of the voters.
Until the US gets its head out of its ass, this will continue to happen. Heaven forbid we look at every other Western country on Earth to solve this type of "problem."
Blah blah blah gnome sucks.
Like a broken record all the haters come out in force. How about you just stfu and use another DE if you don't like it?
I for one would welcome this change. The problems with browsers can be mitigated by a small blank square that you can drag the window with, etc.
Fuck her with a rusty pole. Anyone that's been paying attention knows she's in the ISP's pocket and has been for years. I wouldn't trust her to look after a puppy let alone introduce legislation on net neutrality.
Um...not really. Championing unions (which gave rise to the middle class in the first place), medicare for all, etc. is not exactly against whites in the middle class.
Do they care and show concern for minorities and the working poor? Of course but it's foolish to think they don't represent you, at least less than an R does.
Sorry to burst your bubble but there are people other than you who need represented. It's a big tent my friend. And I say this as an independent who straddles the fence (though not so much lately with the Rs.)
Ahh ok- so gnome is shitty but your chosen DE is not? Glad we got that covered.
Gnome is FANTASTIC for me and I have never had a better workflow. Just because it doesn't work for you doesn't mean it's a shitty DE. That'd be as dumb as me saying KDE sucked balls simply because I didn't like it.
I wouldn't even try reasoning with half the people on here. They bitch all day long about this and that (given to them for FREE) and don't want to do anything to help with it anyhow (even just by testing.) And given that the reason they are moving to WebExtensions is to adjust the underlying code base to be FASTER...you can't reason with these people.
The equivalent of giving them a Bentley and they ask why it can't drive on water.
Not sure if you've used it lately but I'd give it a go. Much, much faster since x64 is default AND electrolysis mainly.
And to be fair- we here on/. are the in minority. A lot of people actually want things like pocket, hello, etc.
Same old story. Use it or don't. It's a great DE for some, not for others. No other DE gets nearly as much hate for actually just advancing their platform instead of pushing out the same old thing year after year after year.
I run it. It's really stable anymore, I run some CentOS servers so using the precursor to stuff hitting that is nice, it's nice to develop on (devassistant is a little bonus), and it usually has the latest Gnome.
Discredited? I think they've done more hardnose reporting this last few months than they have in years. Trump is not just a jackass- he appears to have colluded or given off a strong impression of it and it's in everyone's interests to get to the bottom of it. I haven't seen anything that they've "made up."
I honestly don't think Pence would've been given the same treatment had he been the one running (or any other candidate on the R platform.)
Well...if Trump and co. actually colluded with Russia, then yes, they should run with that. Not for politics but for America. I don't see how investigating a foreign country interfering in our election is somehow a bad thing.
They do need a message refresh but no reason not to walk and chew bubble gum at the same time.
You really expect to impeach a president in his first 130 days? Took Nixon like 2-3 years. Even with the massive cloud hanging over Trump, making an airtight case takes time.
What a ridiculous assertion that he committed no crime simply because they're making sure they have a case good enough to bring against him.
Total agreement. Sounded bogus right when I read- "These costs entail the administration, management, and development costs paid directly to the space agency" as if development should be near nothing. That's insane.
Meh. I used Gnome 2 for years and was shocked as anybody at Gnome 3 but gave it a chance. Now there is no way in hell I would ever go back. It's simply fluid and suits my workflow. I think there just way too many people who would gladly live in the past without ever taking a chance on something new.
I liken it to the XP users. They were happy (hey I was too) but c'mon, Windows 7 blew it away in terms of usability. I would argue for Gnome 3 all the same and even if not that, systemd (for all its faults) is better than sysvinit.
Most people can make do with just about any kind of office product be it MS Office, Libreoffice, Kingsoft, Google Docs, etc. MS is just going along with the rest with a subscription (happening at a lot of companies like Adobe, etc.)
Problem is- people are used to the perpetual license (I've reinstalled Office on more comps than I can count) and don't *need* the latest edition. So they'll simply keep buying the perpetual or migrate to another (most likely free) platform.
Not sure why downvoted...you're completely right. Who cares what your preference is- what was said above is the truth.

This is one of the dumbest things I've read lately. Shouldn't even be an option? Do you understand what Linux is? FFS
He's at least consistent. Hasn't he appointed someone who has the express goal of destroying whatever they are heading? EPA, education, etc.

Except Devuan is Debian with init so really that doesn't mean much.

The gaps can be taken out. Click the double arrows >> and click customize toolbar. Then just drag and drop to the middle to remove them.

Blah blah blah, obligatory crap comment about Gnome 3, blah blah blah.
Yes, because your opinion is gold. I find Gnome 3's workflow waaaay more useful and intuitive than KDE. I think I'm still sane.

I don't understand why that's a big deal. Chrome has just as high of numbers and is doing fine.

Yep- helpful instead of setting up Windows on an old desktop or something.
