The amendments, that for example, give the government the power to create programs such as social security (Amendment 16)
There is nothing in that amendment that states that the government can create social security. Just about levying an income tax and not having to give the money to the states.
Or we get into topics like the Constitution permiting the repealment of the second amendment, entirely legally and under the system the founding fathers set up. "No!" says the tea partier. "We can't do this things! These things weren't intended by the founding fathers! They wrote the constitution specifically as they did as a guidepost for this country!"
Your wrong. A tea-partier would not say that we can't get rid of the 2nd. A tea-partier would argue with you though on why shouldn't get rid of it. Theres a big difference between saying we can't do something and we shouldn't do something.
As to the air-force, well it may be unconstitutional. But the great thing about the constitution is it provides a mechanism for that challenge. If you believe the air force is unconstitutional, why not take the matter to federal court to find out.
Between allowing illegals to get both drivers licenses and practice law, banning lead ammo for hunting, reclassifying any semi-auto rifle with a clip as a assault rifle (including simple.22's) and therefore making it illegal to transfer ownership (even upon death); I would say that Brown paddled to the far left.
So basically your not voting republican until they only include members who are fine being a minority party and receiving whatever scraps Reid/Pelosi will throw to them. You basically want republicans to be the Democrat-light party on the ballot. You dont want them to actually stand for anything.
You actually sound like a Democrat who refuses to identify as a dem due to the dems moving to far to the left.
Your assuming the 11k actually makes it down to each elementary school. And then your assuming that because it does, it will have some sort of long term beneficial effect. Your wrong on both counts. The US spends more on education per pupil then just about any other country in the world and we have shit results from it. Until the educational/unionization/bureaucratic complex is dealt with, more money wont make any difference in our schools.
As a native Californian (who is stuck living in the bay area), this state has proved that states should make due with part-time legislatures. You can add the various anti-gun bills (lets see...no more lead ammo for hunting, a.22 semi rifle is reclassified as a assualt rifle and as such can no longer have ownership transfered (so when you die, the state gets it)) on top of this heap of shit.
And yet under Barry, debts are going up even faster and the gap between rich and poor is even more then under W.
The difference between W and O? At least under W you knew the rich were going to get richer. Under O, we were told that we need to spread the wealth around...just not O's buddies wealth.
And yet under the Clinton admin, salsa was declared a vegetable.
The fact is that a 1/4 cup of ketchup has similar levels of various vitamins and minerals as compared to other fruits or vegetables. The fact the ketchup is in a paste rather then the original solids doesn't change the nutritional value.
This is due to the method of accounting as required by the US Office of Personal Management. The USPS is required to fund only the future liability of only current or former employees.
Allow me to repeat for those liberals repeating thinkprogress, huffington, etc.
The USPS is required to fund only the future liability of only current or former employees.
Where does this 75 years line come from? It goes back to the US OPM. If a male employee is hired at age 25 and has a life expectancy of ~79 years, that means the USPS would have to project retiree health benefits for this employee for about 54 years in the future. But, due to the US OPM guidelines for accounting, this 54 years is stretched out to 75 years. Theoretically this 75 years could count for an unborn liability, in actuality, the USPS only has to account for current and past employees.
Remember that Enron crisis a decade or so ago in CA?
I live in California. When they deregulated the energy market, they only did a partial deregulation. In this case, partial dereg made things much worse.
The 2008 economic meltdown was caused by deregulation
No, the meltdown was caused by the government interferring in the market and forcing lenders to loan money to people who had no chance of paying it back.
Socialism only works in some imaginary liberal fantasy world where greedy douchebags can't game the system to their own benefit. Under every economic system you will always have people who are able to game the system for their own benefit. Under free-market capitalism w/ minimal necessary regulation (not the corporatism we have now), the playing field is the most level.
Is it because the Koch is considered evil by the left while Soros is a saint?
Yet the irony is that the Koch brothers actually make something in the United States and their workforce is 80% unionized while Soros is a banker who makes money on devaluing countries currency.
Obama ended the Iraq war? No, Obama followed the blueprint that W. left him when he left office.
Brought us back from brink of collapse? You mean from the housing bubble that was created in not small part due to Democratic housing policies going back to Jimmy Carter.
Stand up for what is right? Maybe you should look again. Every single promise by Obama had a expiration date. The man has flipped his position to match what is necessary to get elected.
I got a BS in psychology and did HR out of college. I ended up becoming a self taught SQL DBA because HR was low paying w/ crappy rewards. I own a house, work for a large company w/ good benefits and 401k.
You ever think about why the founders of earth day choose Lenin's 100th birthday? Because Green is the new Red.

In 1973, the Dems held the budget hostage over campaign finance reform. Should they have just done nothing then?

I particularly like the piece about Obama being gay whose male lovers were shot before he was elected.
You know, posting that you liked a comment that you posted in the first place is just bad form...
Yea, actually it does. We buried ourselves in debt so the free world wouldnt have to be subjugated so we should get something in return.

Tell that to those who have been dragged in front of various human rights commissions for exercising their freedom of speech.

How about you link a reference to something from a org that is not interested in blaming the Republicans for everything?
Linking to thinkprogress is pretty much the same as linking to something off the dailykos or whatever the fuck obama's campaign site is called.

You mean the CIA agent who was exposed by Richard Armatage (not Cheney, Rove or Libby).
BTW, Richard Armatage is a Clinton-ite.
