This is wonderful! It has everything I want. People could use this or....
...maybe a real computer? You could a desktop that will do all that and more for less then $600. My desktop has been able to do all of this for two years.
if someone wants to look at 'FlaskMPEG DeCSS' it's here:

I hope you guys arn't too good for cut and paste. If the 2600 can get away with non hyper-link linking, then so can I. Just make sure to delete it after 24 hours, haha.
Knapsack problem: An integer program of the form, Max{cx: x in Z^n+ and ax 0. The original problem models the maximum value of a knapsack that is limited by volume or weight (b), where x_j = number of items of type j put into the knapsack at unit return c_j, that uses a_j units per item.
Bin packing problem: Partition a given set of integers, {c_1,...,c_n}, into bins such that the sum of all integers in each bin does not exceed the bin capacity, say b, so as to minimize the number of bins required.
You could spend $120,000 for fours years at a good college or spend 30 seconds on a search engine to find what they are talking about.
Whats up with this script kidding cracking these 30 some sites to post a letter? Should this be a/. story on this or something? I find it interesting. The author of the letter used an aol email address so I guess it shouldn't be that hard to find him.
I think this would be great for a 9-5 type person. When they get board at work, they could just cheak out the listings and decide what to record. When they come home they could have all there soaps or whatever waiting for them to view.
I wonder hows these problems will face with Steve Job's next NeXT venture, osX with the apple cube.
- No slots, obviously.
- Only 8 RAM slots in the station (=32 MB).
LOL 8? You would never fit that in a tiny cube (even if ram is better now) Upgradeing should still may be a problem.
- Non-upgradable Video card
I heard that Voodoo is trying to make its cards small enough to fit in the cube, so they might have that one down.
- Ethernet and SCSI really had sub-standard
performance. SCSI couldn't use many of the
available PC disks at the time.
With differnt standards different probablems will occure.
The Unix below was quite rooten, performance-wise, from a porting standpoint and from correctness and freedom of gcc warning issues in include files.
well, I guess we will see how bad Apple had to screw with BSD to get it to run right.
I don't really know my stuff on these, so don't flame me too bad. I do find it funny that it seams that Steve Jobs is living his NeXT dreams with Apple by doing nearly the exact same thing he did before. I would think that if he didn't make the same mistakes that he might have a chance to succeed.
Early Beta versions of Napster had a place for Banner ads, but they only head Napster banner in there. I figured they would put real banner ads in there later, but the space was gone on the next beta version.
Computers run better when they are cold, so why dosn't Greenland, Norway, or some other cold climent country make a good buck by hosting illegal stuff?
Did Napster give the handles of these Metallica trading fans, or did they have people looking at user's 'hot lists' on lot different Napster Servers? Or did they use some privacy invading software that was able see what was being requested through the Servers?
Spam is free speach, and if your goverment blocks that, it must also means that they have to right to block other "offesive things" that you may hold valuable or like.
After reading the artical I found this little tid bit
In a related sign of supply constraints, semiconductor analysts said that Intel Corp (INTC: Research, Estimates). is delaying the launch of its 633- and 667-MHz Celeron chips by about two months because it doesn't have enough manufacturing capacity.
I guess I was wrong, both are struggling to keep up. Maybe its Post Y2k?
What should I be on the look out for, when I try to impress my date with this hot new distro? Dosn't this new distrobution come with Geeko, the stuffed Lizard? Girls would go wild over that. Nothing says 'I love you' like a reptile.
Don't most colleges act as their own ISP, and isn't it true that ISPs can't be sued for the content that goes through there servers?
www.salshdot.org is not making a profit on Slashdot. The site is useing 'Name Zero', a company that gives a free URL for that extra ad window.
They are not making a profit, but they are still stealing content.
If this device is truely aimed at the stupid "to dumb for even Windows" newbis, why was it posted on Slashdot?

Can't stop MY NAPSTER. I'm useing OpenNap serverers. Thanks www.Napigator.com
Early Beta versions of Napster had a place for Banner ads, but they only head Napster banner in there. I figured they would put real banner ads in there later, but the space was gone on the next beta version.
Um, maybe their banner ads?

I just did a search for Metallica on a Napster server and I got the Maximum (100) different download choices for a search.
I'm just paranoid, whats your excuse?
