  1. There is no life at all there. on Possible Signs of Life Detected On Venus · · Score: 0, Troll
Has anyone read any of Carl Sagan's books on this? People though there was life on the Moon a few centuries ago because of the craters they saw! People even thought they saw what looked like giant irrigation canals.

There is no life elsewhere in the universe! Give it up.

Experiment 1. take a bobby pin or a needle a kleenex and a bowl of water. Take the kleenex with two hands and place the needle on top. Place the kleenex on the surface of the water. The needle will float. Experiment 2. Take some corn starch and a pail of water and a decent sized rock. Mix corn starch with the water until you have a liquid (so you could pour the content of the pail on the floor if you wanted) that is still thick. Take the rock and gently place it on the liquid. See it sink. Now take the rock out and take a ladder or a chair. Drop the rock into the pail from two meters high. Funny he? :) no splashes and it doesnt sink immediatly! :) Experiment 3. Go to a lake or have a pail of water you don't plan to keep. Have one person with five layers of jogging pants goggles and protective apparail trow one pound of sodium in a lake or drop it in the pail and run. Show it to people that are sitting at a distance. This is also fun with the school toilets.

I don't think it matters much how old a tradition is. Truth is I think marriage is fluff as well and serves only to show others how truly commited you are in your relationship. The ring serves the same purpose. It isn't between you and your wife but for others to see that you and her are serious. If you want ethical diamonds you can try buying canadian diamonds. I did a search on this a while back. They are not dug out in Sierra Leone or anything like that and the miners are paid a decent salary for digging as well. http://www.siriusdiamonds.com/home.htm

I've been trying open source OS's for a while. I would love to see the day when you have a core OS install CD and the only utility that comes with it is the "Download new Packages" program. Sincerely I find that the amount of Beta programs you get when installing a new OS really bites. We should have the choice of which stable release we want rather then the latest that a group of people choose. my 2 cents.
