    what about the ability to login? I'd say the most important tool is the login prompt! cant do much without that one!

    I can purchase a software package faster than you can create one in java... so, according to your approach, you're the one who's a dinosaur wasting your own time coding.

    Fact is, the package I buy will be bloated with extras that I will never need or use.

    Programming in RAD languages is no different. You make a call to a pre-existing function/component/"GUI element" and sure, it does the job quicker, but how many bugs does that come with that you dont know about, cant see, and cant fix yourself?

    I agree that certain 3GL and 4GL development languages have their place, and so do the 1GL and 2GL's. if people choose to write in a language that is 1 level closer to machine code than what you're using, Kudo's to them for learning about what they're doing, but dont knock them, or you're no better than the guy who built Jurassic park.

    I've found that Mod Points are issued when you're either not in the mood to issue them, or are strongly opinionated on the current topics and thus have to choose whether or not to express your opinion in writing or use your mod points... I always (unfortunately) have to choose the prior!

    Oh, and for the record, today , I dont have Mod points to use! So I'm free to post without guilt (for once!)

    $89 (AUD) will get you unlimited 1.5 with no caps, shapes or extra costs... you just have to know which provider(s) actually DON'T enforce their AUP's!

    Well, GIMP will have to claim that one first to prevent the use of their acronym.

    err... too late! they have it already! ;-)

    We cant make it specifically a 'Linux Instant Messaging Protocol' either, as the acronym doesn't promote linux that well at all!

    What IS a bug anyway?... if it wasn't defined that the system SHOULDN'T do something that is being described as a bug, then it's not something that you can complain that the system shouldn't do!

    My mother had numerous tests for a heart problem that she has (and eventually had successfully diagnosed)... during the testing phase the doctor (in a nut shell) diagnosed anxiety simply because all the tests were coming back negative for everything else...

    *ATTEMPT AT HUMOR* Seems to me that there has always been a blood test to diagnose anxiety, the results are positive for an anxiety diagnosis when the results of the test come back negative.

    *GETTING SERIOUS AGAIN* Good to see that now they can run a single test to weed out all the lazy doctors out there who arent persistant enough to find the problem, and just want to send you home with an answer to shut you up

    Just a quick rule of thumb.. if you can see the pixels, MOVE BACK! :-) you have either got the picture too big, or you're sitting too close!

    also, not forgetting that the closer you're projector is to the wall, the brighter the light / contrast.
