Maybe the problem isn't that the phone cause the tumors, but rather your hand preference. Think about it. Most people will, a majority of the time, use their dominant hand to hold the cell phone when talking on it. So of course the tumor that supposedly is caused by the phone is also going to match up to their dominant had as well. So maybe this is about your dominant hand being the deciding factor in the location NOT the phone!

Having read a newspaper story about the magnificent christmas lights decoration at the US Army housing area not far away, an elderly couple takes a walk to take a look. Too bad they also tried to take a picture. A couple of security guards (not soldiers) come to take the film and look at their ID. The couple refuses, and are forced to wait 45 minutes out in the cold until both MP and local police arrive at the scene. IIRC (from the local news paper article) they could keep their film but the local police checked their IDs and gave the info to the MPs. Guess they will have a hard time getting a visa for the US - if they ever want to go there after this. And all this happened on a public road, no fences, no signs.

In what period exactly? The period of a few minutes the erruptions last?

Let's see: CO2's density is 1.98 kg/m, "CO2 is currently being added to Lake Nyos at a rate of at least 5 x 106 m3/year." That's 1.98*5e6 kg/year, 10,000 metric tons per year. According to this list, the tiny island of Saint Helena emits more CO2 per year.
