my computer speakers make a noticable buzzing noise about 2 seconds before my cellphone (nokia 8260) rings. Consistently. Its good because i can turn down the speakers and answer the phone after like one ring. I assume this is an unintended conflict of sharing emission frequency or somesuch.
we'll never have to worry about it again...once we hire the ex-gang member, the whole company will be protected.
or would his old gang buddies come after him for betraying his roots? Or rough up company execs so they could get the guy a job. Hrmm....at least they're not on the streets:)
I again think i may be the exception but i fried my motherboard a couple months ago in my Dell Dimension and within a week (it was over a long weekend) i had a new one and was able to get back up and running. I was on hold for less than 30 minutes.
OTOH, my roomate has an HP Pavilion and has had no end of problems with it. The biggest difference? He gets put on hold for hours but its not a 1-800 call so he's paying long distance charges THE WHOLE TIME. Dell has a handy 1-800 number, and if you dont call during peak call times, you can get through pretty quickly.
IBM uses 802.11 in their pervasive computing stuff (smarter appliances). Very cool stuff, and i have to agree with the previous post that you can't kill something (bluetooth) that's already dead.
it's been mentioned once that they will probably check online for when you purchased/started the movie so your brilliant clock workaround won't work. Guess somebody will just have to hack it.
actually, if you read the article, it says that the guy was trying to prove that video games are good for kids. He wanted to give game manufacturers a boost. He failed.
I'm gonna form a society for reading articles before posting....whose sig is that "if i had a nickel for every post made after reading the article, i'd be poor"?
i'm kind of confused. Is it really that hard to moderate? Apparently they are confused. I mean, people always complain about them, but i cant imagine that people just cant figure out the system....is it a problem with slashcode or are the readers of/. really that dumb. Score: 0, Funny? Oh well
sample jokes for this:
"my, what a little CD you have"
"i guess if it still spins..."
"it aint the size of the CD, its the RPMs of the drive" (reference to the boat analogy thing)
ok i'm done.
dude, get an aloe vera plant so when you go berserk and put on a disguise and kill everybody, you can come back undisguised and heal everybody as to avoid suspicion. Did that make sense?
I go to George Washington U (gwu.edu), where we also have a bunch of kids working for "ResNet" helping students who can't get their computers up. Unfortunately, they dont get the cushy laptop, etc, so most of them are retarded beyond belief and nobody with real skills wants the job.
It's sad because i had to have 4 visits over the course of two weeks for somebody to tell me that the wall-port was the source of my separation from AIM. call me a junkie, i was getting tired of using the java interface in the lab.
But i guess you get that anywhere you go. Rule of thumb: Support is dumb. I have to second the "geek getting some" sentiment. Nuttin quite like camping out in front of the computer lab, and waiting for somebody to say "i need to get online". I don't know that much, but i know enough to tell if the ethernet cord isn't plugged in all the way. Good times, though i never intentionally left something broken to keep my foot in the door, i just went back drunk and knocked on the door:P
would be nice, yes.....i've just gotten used to always having notepad running.....copy from IE, paste in notepad to remove formatting, copy from notepad to your email or whatever.
Dude, its like the third party in politics. After the fray, everything is better. The third party, even if it doesn't win, makes the other two parties get their acts together. If Mozilla can kick IE and Nutscrape's asses into being not-suck, then i'm happy.
From the article: "We welcome their presence, in fact, because they keep our immune system constantly on its toes, ready for any real invaders." The 'what doesn't kill us makes us stronger' attitude really doesn't do it for me. I'm glad that the hole is fixed now, but really, how long will it take before somebody makes a really badass virus that does what this one stopped short of? IIS is not anything like a human imune system: the human body adapts to diseases...its something like survival of the fittest?
For my money (or lackthereof), and i hate to jump on the bandwagon and mention linux in every/. story, the real living, breathing OS is not windoze...I'll go for an OS that is constantly improving itself.
Anyway, i dont really buy the point because it's like finding somebody with no white-blood cells and sending them out to get a cold, and afterwards saying that it was a good thing for them to go to the hospital.
sweet gawd.....can you post a link to the answers to those questions or something? I dont want to cheat your test, but i would like to know some of that stuff.
I've been to a couple pages where the whole thing (not just an intro), has been all flash. Granted, a rare occurance, but i dont think the developers were thoughtful enough to include a watered-down version, so yes, we do need flash to browse. I'm sure these sites will become more numerous as flash developers get more ambitious.
for account signups, and the only spam i continue to get is from good old stalwart, MISS CLEO! Apparently i went to the webpage at some point and put that email addy in somewhere. Needless to say, i wasn't sober when i did that. Eh, it was fun, and now i get advance notice of special rates on FREE READIN's!! "CALL ME NOW!"
wow. That man is too cool for school.
Here's some more stuff i found lookin around for crazy people with too much time on their hands: http://www.ac.wwu.edu/~mnaylor/pi.html
Random? Relevant? who knows!
this gives new meaning to "job security"
:)

YMMV of course, but for me, dell support rules
fine, you click on the "Information" link and see where it takes you.
see, now this is a good response. Correct the post without being an ass
- you gave us america? better get back to my history book. Or did the "yanks" write that too (it must be biased unfairly).
- Didn't you want to say "spell" instead of "spelt"? Looks like the grammar has gone downhill there too.
- I just hope that not all British people are part of the "Death Church".

How about SirCam? It would follow eligible bachelors, and viewers could ask them for advice on the file they're sending :)
