Check out http://www.ifolder.com/ . It's a half open source / half proprietary software piece that lets directories sync between computers, regardless of the OS. Lin to Win, Win to Lin, Lin to Lin, etc...
Is what me and my brother in law are using. Check it out here:

It streams MP3's, uses m3u playlists generated from my favorite MP3 software, shows pictures on the TV, and works pretty well. My favorite part is that they release beta software on a regular basis, so I'm constantly getting new features like the ability to listen to internet radio.

I work for Novell, and in the past they have always been very good about taking care of customers that purchased a product that rev's less than 30 days later.
With that being said, SUSE Professional and Personal are not Enterprise software. They are hobbyist releases. If you want Enterprise software, you have to wait until Novell releases Novell Linux Desktop, which will be a corporate release based off the latest and greatest code. It's scheduled to ship early next year.
Good Luck!

SUSE 9.2 Released

If you want server features, SUSE is going to focus you into the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9. It's part of the support / cost conversation. You only get support for server side features on a server side distro, and for SUSE that is SLES 9.
What other part of your body would you let touch fecal matter and then wipe with a piece of paper and call clean. Everyone needs to buy a bidet and learn how to use it. How disgusting are we, as a species, for not cleaning ourselves with anything but a piece of paper after we deficate. It blows my mind.
If I'm going to go for a crappy MP3 recording, I'll use my Compaq iPaq. It's junky, but it'll do 8,000 Hz, Mono all the way up to 44,100 Hz 16Bit Stereo. No external mic, but I'm sure you could rig one somehow. Plus, with a 1Gb Microdrive, I can store as much data as I want.
It's interesting. Small towns actually have better access in some areas. They aren't as built up, running new cable (fiber or copper) is easier, and an ISP can become the only game in tow, which leads them to invest more in the business.
I was having trouble with my Christmas list anyway. I guess that problem is solved. Now if I could just figure out what size clothes my wife fits, it might be a Happy Holiday after all!!
I work as a consultant, so I ran it on my Dell 850mhz laptop (w/ 500mb ram), and it's pretty groovy. Nice graphics, interesting bad guys, I can see it seriously sucking up most of my free time for a while.
With a bigger screen and better video. Maybe take a look at an iPaq, grab an expansion chassis and a couple of NIC's (Whichever you want), and have a blast. You can even install Linux on it, if that's what really floats your boat.
Remember... this is Linux. There is no licensing cost, only support costs.
