i cant say anything for IE since i dont use it, but loading big slashdot pages are faster with chimera. Web sites are faster to load in general. thanks apple!
This just shows Mathworks commitment to the mac. Jaguar has been out in the public now for how many weeks, and they are just now telling people that it does not work with 10.2!
i just got jag at the release party fri. and have noticed a huge difference in the dial-up connections. I hevent gotten an error message when trying to connect( i used to get them everyday) and the connection speeds are faster and more reliable. As for the non hang up I have never had that happen.
It is true you can buy wintel machines for cheaper, but you must look at the whole picture.
What are you really getting for that $300 or so extra dollars?
1.Of course the always easy and great looking OS
2.iMovie
3.iDVD
4.iTunes
5.AppleWorks
6.Rumors of a release of iPhoto.
7.The OS ships with many different languages alreasy in there, so you can switch with the push of a button.
So for that extra $300 the average user also gets all of the software he/she would need to do pretty much everything.
BTW have you seen how much M$ wants for office these days?
It does seems to open much faster. it used to bounce three or four times, now its on in two.

Just because you can doesn't mean you have to.
If Apple wasn't around who would the other companies copy?
