How many "this could be the cure for AIDS/Cancer/Virginity" articles get posted on/. every month? There would be less dupes, but they have the same genetic make up as the HIV virus and are able to mutate their own content, making them difficult to catch...
is that *anyone* can edit it without creating an account. This can cause a problem in the UK when a popular DJ will mention an article on Wikipedia and then suddenly everyone's a comedian, changing the page and writing any old shit on it until an administrator locks the page.
The one thing I'd do to improve Wikipedia would be to require you to create an account and activate it. It would remove a large chunk of the vandalism very quickly.
I'll register riksweeney@yahoo.co.uk and then change my address to rik_sweeney@yahoo.co.uk next week, rik-sweeney@yahoo.co.uk the week after that and riksweeney29@yahoo.co.uk the week after that...
He said the Zune had a 10.2 percent market share in the U.S. in the 30 gigabyte category
How specific do you want to be? How about this:
He said the Zune had a 10.2 percent market share in the U.S. in the 30 gigabyte category, and 100 percent market share in the U.S. in the 30 gigabyte Zune category.
I'm not sure what you're talking about. FFVII was the best one (according to the fanboys who probably never finished it anyway). Personally I thought FFX was excellent.
There's snow there now. Not as much as they'd like, but enough to allow people to Ski and Board without problem. I'm off to Meribel, France on Saturday and currently there's 100cm on the upper slopes and 40cm on the lower ones (see you there if you're going, unless you're a skier).
I reckon it'll be back to normal next year, but hopefully the world is sitting up and taking notice to the warning it's been given that things need to change.
I used Pegasus mail when I was at Portsmouth. It did the job quite nicely until they upgraded it in around 2000 and then suddenly everything had that God awful my prefix.
I always wondered what became of Pegasus mail, guess I know now.
I think for some people, moving from using a language like Java to using C can cause them a multitude of problems since there's no bounds checking by default and overruns aren't caught.
For example, I recently fixed a bug Blob And Conquer to do with Strings, the code was something like this:
char nm[2];
nm[0] = mission[11]; nm[1] = mission[12];
The code then went on to doing a
missionNum = atoi(nm);
Most of the time, this'd work OK because of the way atoi works. Other times though it'd stray off into other memory and pick up a random number and return a three or more digit number instead.
Can you imagine what this would be like for a business with thousands of employees in each building who will need to be retrained to used Word. First there would be the cost of upgrading, them the cost of training, particularly if they need to bring in someone external and then they've lost man hours from all the retraining they've had to give.
Rachel: It's coming from Joey
Phoebe: Oh my God turn him off!

Where do I commit my code?

.. Presses Back button.
The sooner video formats stop being political footballs and start 'just working' the better.
Works fine in MPlayer...
A+++++++++++++
Excellent comment, would read again.
I think this should be

You are talking about Final Fantasy aren't you?
Microsoft should take a leaf out of Apple's book:
Microsoft: Microsoft does not comment on rumours or speculation
Us: It's real!!!
Apple: Nope, we're not making such a product
Us: Oh, OK then.
Warmest. Year. Ever.
Nope, just doesn't have the same ring to it.

the high definition DVD format war will continue until a winner is declared
Couldn't get more Irish than that could you? Here's another pearl of wisdom:
Ah, to be sure it'll rain tomorrow unless it doesn't.

Easy, I never ever run the program.
You'd make a great Doctor:
It hurts when I do this.... ouch!
Don't do that then.
Among the losers are [...] a flying car
Hopefully the day they become reality won't involve Emmett Brown jumping of a DeLorean and taking us Back To The Future.
An Aston Martin DB9 though...

Obviously there's an easy way to fix it.
Yes, but your statement is worthless without a 'link.
Yes, but your statement is worthless without a working 'link
This will end the Blu-Ray / HD-DVD war much in the same way that DVD±R drives ended the DVD+R / DVD-R war.
And to a lesser extent the Betamax / VHS war.

Doesn't sound great to me.
I'm not bothered about the price hike, I'll just pass on the cost to the buyer as "shipping"
What, no Patch Tuesdays?
Nope, they have Patch-Every-Other Tuesdays instead.
