The day I loaded Windows ME is the last time Microsoft got a penny of my money. I have actually been pretty happy with Macs and Linux over the years. I use Windows at work so I'm not totally out of the loop.
On a whim I put Windows 10 on a virtual machine. Honestly... I think it's the best, most stable, operating system Microsoft has come out with in a long time. Once you rip out Cortana and remove all the spyware Microsoft puts in there, it is quite nice.
The hell I don't! LISTEN, KID! I've been hearing that crap ever since I was at UCLA. I'm out there busting my buns every night. Tell your old man to drag Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes.
Maybe I missed the memo where I will be forced to wear these Cyborg looking glasses but, given the news coverage these things are getting, I have the feeling I did.
Exactly. The difference between to two is not THAT large.
I am a total Apple Fanboi but a Droid user. AT&T service blows here. Anyway...
In order to get the full Droid experience. You have you root your phone. Then Verizon does it damnedest to make sure if you load a new ROM it is a pain to find the SBF to restore it factory. Usually there is a few cease and desist letters then it shows up so many places they forget about it. Then, if you are unlucky enough to have the Droid X you get to also deal with eFuse and Verizon doing it's part to make sure only it's content comes across the HDMI port.
Sorry, grass ain't that green in Droidland.
Microsoft Wasted Time On Vista but.... I and the place I work for, did not.
Now it is up to the desktop support staff to figure out how to get several thousand XP boxes and user data migrated to Win 7 in a timely manner. Poor bastards!
Even if I pay top dollar for all the Apple products I want, every year, it is WAY less than the 10% of the gross I am expected to tithe with many other religions. I mean WAY cheaper... even with VAT added.
Umm I do not have an iPhone but at least 13 MILLION people do. They expect to sell another 15 million or so this year and I would bet on it if the 4G is released.
SO wrong it is not even funny. Never mind the 100's of cameras iMovie supports natively.. and ignoring the 70+ formats QuickTime supports there are DivX plug-in, Windows Plug-In for both import and export. Worse case you pass it though StreamClip (free) and convert it to QT. About the hardest thing to convert is muxed MPEG-2.
Where as on of Linux best Editors, Cinelerra, still needs about $30 of plug-ins to do Windows media and MP3 audio correctly.
I was perfectly happy with Linux until I wanted to start editing video. Most Linux video editing apps while "free" and do a basic job, they IN NO WAY compare with even iMovie that comes included with your Mac.
I have a plain old phone that does not do anything other than make a call and take crappy pictures. Since I am in the market, I have played with all the new model phones. Hands down the iPhone seems the smoothest and easiest to use (to me). I could care less about SD cards or replaceable batteries. (Seems silly unless you need talk 20 hours straight). The Droid stuff just seems non-intuitive to me. The only reason I do not have an iPhone is it runs AT&T and they have no coverage here... not even cell. But if the iPhone 4 comes out on Verizion, I am so there.
Right... Get a huge potion of business for a large established company. Cultivate this over a few years. Then, tell them what their prices are going to be. When they refuse to budge. Stop selling their products. I mean it is almost the Wal-Mart business model what was hell was Amazon thinking? Oh yeah... It works! Remember Rubbermaid?
Yes for "Windows" it IS good but if you have used -ANY-other good OS in the last few years... Windows 7 is nothing more than what is "expected" of an OS these days.

Let me know when a computer can fly a remote control helicopter like this and I will be Impressed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcSd1dQ81Hs
Umm.... I don't know, lets look at Apple Stock vs. MS stock over the last 5 years: Almost ZERO compared to 600% growth.
Did they think they could run their website on a Droid too? Man it is slow.
Umm Apples to Apples or Smart phones to Smart phones is:
- double last years sales
- total market share over 14%
- #3 maker of smart phones
more impressive?

Yeah but when you live there is sucks. When I see those AT&T coverage commercials I SCREAM!!!! (well it is more for the wife since she has an iPhone)
Where I live I can't even make an AT&T phone call within 10 miles of my house, yet my internet is provided via Verizon Wireless Broadband.
I pray the iPhone come out on Verizon soon...
Yes, Jefferson was go religious he re-wrote the new testament of the Bible taking all the "magic" out of it.

Exactly, I skip flash only sites
Anyone use Lotus Notes at work? Maybe it is just me....
If we took every drop out of US and used it all it would last for a whooping 8-12 years. YOU ARE CLUELESS!!!!

You may not like the "lock in" from Apple or the "lame" AT&T service but it is FAR from "crap" or "stupid". The iPhone DOMINATES the worldwide smartphone market. http://theappleblog.com/2010/01/22/iphone-dominating-worldwide-smartphone-usage-report/
The N900 has it own limitations the biggest being having to use AT&T or T-Mobile and large upfront cost.
and Linux edits AVCHD without transcoding? REALLY? Umm no.

Google should first target those groups on Facebook that think any day now Facebook is going to start "charging" a monthly fee to use the service.

Bullshit. Flash is a TOTAL CPU/battery hog. Just unplug your laptop and "try" and play Farmville (or other heavy Flash app) for an hour. You won't .
