Mainstream 3d has really only been around for 4 years or so, so it's not really correct to say it took 15 years.
Highend 3d is more like the nVidia Quaddro or 3d Labs cards, and I'm pretty sure it'll be a long time before you see pro3d cards that perform that much better than the consumer level cards in laptops.
I'm not sure why this post has been marked 'insightful'.
I worked at EA QA in Chertsey a couple of years ago, and I asked the QA Manager why we didn't have more women working for us (We had one girl, in a department with about 60-70 blokes..) - He said less than 3% of applicants were female, and of those, they rarely ever passed the logic mini-exams that EA use to vet new testers.
Sorry, but if you're running an NT4 domain, you definately can logon with XP, you just haven't bothered to find out how.
You need to change your security setting, since XP by default looks for security certificates before it will let you logon - you need to disable this, so search for it on technet.
And no, I won't tell you where the article is, because you should have looked first.
And how come you started using XP before you knew that you could connect to your domain? Some IT guy you are....
That's $200 for the ps2 kit, plus PS2 ($200), $30 for a new memory card, Monitor w/ sync on green ($300/400?), or a TV.
Not that cheap huh?
My friend has one - its a really cool idea but it's not a machine that you could use for day to day tasks - Mozilla won't run properly due to the lack of memory (so you're stuck with konquerer), font rendering is a bit naff, and it's really slow... (compiling large apps is a bitch, takes about a day(!!) to compile mozilla) Also, as the article mentions you have NO control over the IO chip, which really really limits what you can do with the machine.
However, I'd get one to use as an mp3/mame box in my living room, connect it to the sound system and network and write a nice front end shell to use mame/play mp3s, that would be usefull:P

The 15" PowerBook has had this for ~2 years....
So iPhoto deleted your backups? How does that work?
Either you didn't back everything up properly, or the photos are still there...
And BTW, my mom's been using a PCs since 1990, but that doesn't mean she knows what she's doing.

Unfortunate, but that's how it is.
It's true:
