Unfortunately they've gotten smart and a number of ads don't get blocked anymore, such as ones that use mouse over ocmmadns to launch instead of normal open window commands.
That being said, try comparing the first page you see when you log in to hotmail compared to the first page after gmail.

You're blind. Just because you don't agree with something, doesn't mean someone shouldn't have the right to say it. Even if they're wrong, why shouldn't they be able to say it?
I was quite happy when AntiVirus was included in DOS 6, even if it was licensed from someone else. Especially since most of the people I work with can't be bothered to go and buy a good one (or download a good free one) to not only make their life easier, but make everyone elses life easier.
Unfortunately for you, $6.95 from Disney is a pretty reasonable cost to include manufacturing + cost of media + shipping + cost to have someone on the phone to talk to you. A single phone call to a call center costs the company between $20-$50 when you work out all expenses including employee salary, benefits, facilities, electricity, IT support, software being used by that call taker.
http://www.unknown.nu/mercury/ has it up. Scroll down to "The War of the Worlds (October 30, 1938)" and use the RA or MP3. It's slow as hell but it works (for now).

What if they can't find the link on the mainpage... I'm just as happy with a guess. I'm sure the readers here can come up with a number of reasons of why this is done. Maybe it's only done if they can't find a link to it on the pages....
Unfortunately Howard isn't about to allow his show to be given out free... but I know how you feel. Q107 in Toronto yanked him off the air a few years back. Sometimes I can pick it up off a buffalo station..
BTW If you're in Florida... another station picked him up there.

When I find a site on google and it has the links below it for 'cached' and 'similar pages'... I'd be more then happy to see an 'rss feed' link.
Right now it means NOTHING.... everyone is jumping to conclusions instead of RTFA'ing (shrug, I feel new here).
They are taking services from two other providers (I've used WebEx, it's a decent web conference) and allowing them to initiate a voice and/or web conference (multiple particpants). This is a new service for AOL and does not effect a one on one conversation or video conference in any way.

Are heads aren't up our asses, you just seem to think we want the server to be up. I'm more then happy when some n00b (great work on the LED, dumbass posting cable modem website on/.) gets to feel the effect.
Actually there is a little more then that when it comes to CD-RW (most) and DVD discs. Drives actually detect what speed the media is rated at, so if you have a 1x DVD-R disc, you can only write to it at 1x, other speed options will be unavailable.
hey leave us alone, the fault was traced back to Ohio. You may have to subpeona Ontario as a witness, but Ohio is the one you should be suing.
I'm getting tired of being accused of having derivative code for every blackout we spawn however. We have not used any of SCOs code in development of our own blackouts.

Laugh... one of the guys on #gmail on Efnet had a small VB app that guessed for you, just leave it on overnight. :)
;p
The author of the page found a way to block it though
Personally I love the following:
1) It's webmail like the ORIGINAL hotmail before MS tookover. Few ads, non popups, just gets you to your business
2) Google search for your e-mail, nice and fast. Beats the hell outta Eurora and Outlook searching
3) Threaded e-mails. I sent out an e-mail to a group of 10 friends, they all responded, I responded to some, etc. It all gets stored in ONE thread.

My IBM ThinkPad already allows me to boot from a USB Memory key.. and the ThinkPad is almost 2 years old.

You can get one for 5-10bux....
:)
Try EBAY!
It's a good thing you're not using Outlook. :)
:)
I get those in Eudora and they don't seem to do much, my friends with Outlook however... not so lucky.
It doesn't matter, this is a NEW service for AOL that allows multi-user voice and web conference. It doesn't affect one on one iChat...

don't forget the *.x2e.org redirect! You can go to slashdot.x2e.org and it shows a thumbnail of the goatman... (not hyperlinked on purpose)
Not to mention the incredibly low cost for educational institutions.
Under its education and research program, Sun provides copies of StarOffice to qualified academic institutions for the cost of the distribution media.
Regardless of the reason, I'm much happier with my tax dollars staying away from MS.
Well I'm not interested, but I know someone that will need some friends...

+1 over your head

a collection of networks and other technologies that enable people to share files with little or no fear of detection?
Naw... thats called the Internet.
(I didn't say they shouldn't be afraid, but don't seme to be)
