  1. "Talk is cheap" is true on many levels. You rarely have to worry about the guy who is yelling at you. He just wants to yell. It is the guy approaching you who isn't saying anything that warrants your attention. He's the one who will actually throw a punch.

I'll start worrying about a state seceding the moment they stop talking about it and start doing something.

Your list is way shorter than mine. For me AMD would also have to start following hardware specifications, lower the power consumption on their cards to reasonable levels, and figure out how to write drivers for their products.

Now add up all of the 4 year old Android phones running the latest version of Android without being rooted. :)

It is amazing to me that people can be so in tune with their own preferences and then fail to account for other people being different at the same time.

Android people will talk all day about why they prefer android and how it is inconceivable that anyone really likes or wants an Apple product. They must be purchasing it because its a status symbol.

Apple people will talk all day about why they prefer iOS and how it is inconceivable that anyone really likes or wants an Android product. They must be nerds and/or cheapskates.

I'd like to put forth the notion that people are a diverse bunch and it is entirely probable that the person purchasing a different product than you is making the purchase because they genuinely like that product. For example, I personally enjoy my iPhone. I don't tolerate it. I don't put up with it. I don't wish it was different. I like it just the way it is. I get that some people don't. That's ok. The world would be a very boring place if everyone was me.

  5. This is our experience as well. Older iPads still do everything we want and never seem to break. I'm having trouble imagining a feature that would cause me to upgrade before they either break or are no longer receiving OS upgrades.

If this means I can have one device that going forward will have essentially both the Wii and 3DS games then I'm already sold.

  7. For a lot of people the Apple way of doing things is what they like. Maybe the Apple people can just like Apple products and the non-Apple people can like whatever they want and all of us can get on with important things in life. That people keep arguing a preference is strange. Different people are different. Get over it. :)
