Farm raised catfish taste like the food they are fed. And they feed them something very similar to dog food. I have eaten catfish caught in the wild, lakes and rivers. Farm raised is ok, but nowhere near as good as fresh wild catfish.
With a changing code, there is always a change of the two devices getting out of synch.
These will most likely include some method to resynch the two, like cycling garage door openers. Planes flying overhead can trigger garage door openers...
Could a rumbling garbage truck accidentally trigger my door.
Back on topic: People buy things for various reasons. I know many people who bought gateways because they liked the cow spots on the box. My concern is that the user experience is going to be divided. Lets say person A buys a computer which comes with the DVD burning tools. Person B buys a similar computer that does not. Person B is going to wonder why they didn't get what person A got, even though they have a new computer with Vista or whatever came on it.
"We don't want customers to be forced into buying something that isn't going to meet all their needs," said Barry Goffe, Microsoft's director of Windows client product management.
Most customers get what is bundled with their computer. Most do not know if they have Windows 98, ME, or XP. Customers will be forced to buy what is the most economical for the OEM's to include with their machines.
Computers were supposed to be "multi-purpose" machines. Now that hardware is leveling, the differences are all in the software. The purpose of these levels is marketing and price control. Do not believe for a minute that this is about providing "choice" to the consumer.
People are not always the most considerate. Can you imagine people arguing over "projection space" on a crowded bus. Every flat surface will have a displayed screen.
I had a college professor tell our computer organization class that, "You now know more than 99% of the world about how computers work." All because we wired some circuits on a bread board and talked a bit out binary arithmetic.
Back when there was magic on the Earth, and magicians thru lightning bolts around with abandon... especially this Zeus fellow... it was beneficial to be able to sense electricity.
Now, only a few people such as electricians would benefit, so no reason for mammals to sense electricity.
Besides, I like a good shock every now and then. Keeps ya on your toes.
but my wife and I agree, that when our kids have completed school, we're outta here.
Might I recommend my home state, Louisiana? No problem with corrupt politicians down here. No sir. We got the finest politicians who can buy... I mean money can buy... err.. ah hell... Bienvenue Louisiane!
PS. We use old fashion voting machines with swing down levers/arrows for voting. We sold our old voting machines to Mexico... boy were they suprised when they elected Edwin Edwards to be President of Mexico!
This is SO ironic... as I have had a MYSQL query "loading" for the last 15-20 minutes in my other tab. I am getting the feeling it is not going to finish anytime soon.
Global Warming is HERE!!! And I am loving every minute of it. I live in a previously semi-tropical environment. Northern Louisiana ( We are not Cajuns up here... few people down there are really Cajun for that matter. ) It is Jan 23, 2006 and the temperature outside is around the low 50's instead of around the 30's. We have had several days in the 70's, flowers are blooming early, frogs croaking/mating early. Everything is coming to life earlier this year. I am looking forward to starting my garden early this year. If we make it past February without a frost, I get a full month headstart on eating fresh tomato and other good garden vegetables.
I am going to enjoy this "tropical" climate while it lasts. Climate is cyclic. I am more afraid of the next ice age more than "human caused" global warming.
I am replaying Baldur's Gate. Already played thru with my power character fighter/mage/cleric multi-class. Now I am trying a humble str 3 bard, 17 con, 18 everything else. More of a challenge and good way to do more than just fight. I can wear armour only if my mage casts strength on me. Mostly I strum my harp and get the hell out of the way, cast a couple spells.
Good game. Can export character to BG2 and expansion and keep right on playing.
Many conspiracy theories abound whenever anyone oustide the Open Source community contribute anything to the process. I do not believe bug reports are going to introduce "back doors" to the software that many of us use on a daily basis.
If you want a real conspiracy theory, or a Symantec angle in particular, think "Trusted Computing", Palladium. If they have never "studied" Open Source, they would not have a leg to stand on in saying that Open Source software is not to be trusted.
Do I believe the above? Not really. Simplest explanation would be that the DHS found a way to use the new buzz words "Open Source" as an excuse/reason to give money to private companies and universities. Take whatever good comes from it and use it. Take whatever bad comes of it and use it as a lesson. There is always something to be learned.
I work in the IT field in a retail business. I tried to recruit interns, paid interns, from the local university. I was suprised by the lack of response. Students these days do not appear to be interested in working while going to school.
I'm sure plenty of patents on robotics and their associated "Intellectual Property" will need to be defended from this kit. Just imagine what young children might build and do with this without close guidance and supervision! They must learn to respect the intellectual rights of other people or companies. Otherwise, society will crumble and we will all have to go back to playing with Lincoln logs and tinker toys... with the appropriate license(s) of course.

Try it. The difference is astounding.

So if you were far enough from Earth, but could use a "Super Strong(tm)" telescope to see the Earth, it would show you Earth's past!
Sweet! Just like that Star Trek TOS episode... Squire of Gothos.
I know what you mean... I rarely have time to do anything but take a little chip out of a computer and run.. no time to grab some nics or video cards!
Always have to be off to the next score!
This is the format of choice I hear... for the Duke Nukem Forever Manual... mu ha ha ha!
Hmm, maybe I have been working too hard.... mu ha ha ha!
Coder: Enter search string: bubble sort
Search Engine: Here are some Quick Sorts, only newbs use bubble sort!
Coder: Damn AI !!!!

Somethings you have on your phone/mobile device should be private. Not displayed using a projector.
Now I have to change all my 'password's!
Definately a good movie. Watch it in its original Spanish, with sub-titles if needed.

Best video card ever! Will this new X support my old Voodoo card? I am sure there are lots of these cards in many linux boxes out there.

What hourly rate can/do you charge for "repairing" (removing spyware/virus/trojans or simply reinstalling) computers?
What is the magic hourly rate that makes this economical for both you and the owner of the computer?
How do you obtain steady work? Questions I always asked myself.
when we get to have Web (20)'95!!! Took Diablo to get me to upgrade last time... wonder what will prompt me to upgrade from 98 this time?
... do you go to jail?
Yes, but only if noone is looking when you do it. Also, you may well get to jail before you even broke the law that sent you to jail. That's physics!
