    That's a good point if you talk abou consumer electronics but the law is more about major appliances like washing machines, fridges etc. It's unlikely that people want to buy the newest shiny washing machne every 2 years.

    You have a vivid fantasy if you think that this is what I meant. Obviously politicians don't know shit about manufacturing etc. if the y weren't engineers themselves at some point in their lives (highly unprobable). However, in this case and it might shock you they responded to what the pubic desired in Europe for a long time.

    ...and the market will regulate itself, invisible hand etc. Forget everything from introductory courses. Especially in economics. The truth is there is no absolute truth in economics, this is not a natural science. So depending on your world view, if you are a Keynsian or a Neoliberal, you could raise plausible arguments pro and contra minimum wage. Unfortunately, it seems like most of the universities teach only Neoliberal theories nowadays.

    I didn't say the approach will cure the problem. Of course leaks will happen no matter how high the salaries are but higher salaries would probably lower the incentives significantly.

    Maybe they should start paying the chinese workers fair wages so the won't have an incentive to leak stuff to get some extra cach to support their families.

  16. Exactly, this is why the people who are in higher positions are payed more. What else could justify the higher salary if not the greater responsability. Because usually they don't do low level stuff, the actual work that drives a company.

    The CO2 emission per KW produced by burning coal is nearly twice as high as from methane. Not a final solution but still better than coal.

    Winning what exactly? Ironically the biggest losers are the uneducated bunch who supported him most. As if he gives a shit about some rednecks who blame immigrants for their own inability to adapt to new economic circumstances.
