Anyway, What are your views on water marking bank notes? i don't know how it works in America, but here we have water marks on our money to tell if its been faked. Is this a useless technology? (seeing as anyone who had the correct machine could also fake the money with a water mark). Also, i heard someone over there was in court because they found out how to fake a watermark, and they wanted to tell everyone, but the company who made them said they couldn't. Yes, if a non-US product decides to detect FBI trojans, the international law (section 25.5.1a) will come into effect. 25.5.1a clearly states that the USA is the "undisputed God-Ruler of all that is". This law will allow the USA to demand that the offending country hands over those responsible. It will also allow FBI agents to travel across to the country and arrest anyone who looks like the suspect and hold them in America without trail for a maximum of 14 days. Persons in the US on the other hand will be treated differently: independent programmers will be arrested under the DMCA for either writing or discussing methods that could allow trojans to be detected (that will soon include _any_ trojan). Companies will not take the risk, as those that do will be 'fixed'. Being 'fixed' is a very unpleasant business, so i suggest you drop this right now.

  19. Its hard to censor on German State Alters DNS To Censor Web Sites [updated] · · Score: 1

If a government wants to start censoring the Internet in their country, they have to be careful. If the laws there are already strict then they have no problem and can go right ahead without worrying about riots. Otherwise, they must slowly turn the people around with PR to make them think that the censorship would be for their own good.

For example, they might start off by saying that the Internet promotes violence and criminal activity or terrorism. They might also explain that criminals and terrorists can use the Internet to communicate and collaborate without being traced. Another point would be that potential criminals could have access to sensitive information such as explosive techniques, or the locations of various potential targets. More recently they could put forward the point that newer trends such as p2p file sharing spread child pornography, graphical violence, and pirate material such as music, algorithms which could endanger an economy.

After this PR campaign a majority of people could be persuaded that Internet censorship is a very good idea. Given that allot (even most?) people have never used the Internet or not regularly, these will be easily led. The government could then proceed to censor. But of course that would never, ever in a million years happen in any civilized country would it? :)

But they didn't want any 'evil' russians (Bush butts in: Yeah! bloody ruskis) to break it. So, they made loads and loads and loads of wires to join up the computers lots and lots of times to create a 'network'. Soon, the network spread, and people invented ways to make it easyer to use with lots of pretty colours and buttons (Bush: And mickey mouse?) yes, and Mickey too. Nowdays this 'network' as we call it, is use mainly to trade dirty pictures (Bush: Like the ones of Misses Bush?)
