Ok i know the world needs more food and medicine than anything else but we should send loads of these things to countries like china, iraq, america & cuba etc where there are oppressive regiemes in oparation, they could be used to capture countless numbers of human rights atrocities! Yes i know they're all made in china.
This should go for electronics too (especially items such as DVD players etc that have embedded software)
But where is DRM? Thats the most important label of all, and the description of the label must _not_ include the words "Digital Rights Management" which is simply PR crap for "restricting what you can do"
I disagree totally, the DMCA is designed to make _anyone_ who even thinks about pissing off a corporation and getting in their way a criminal. In the spirit of the DMCA they broke the law - the program outputs un-DRM'd data thus 'disabling' the DRM and allowing the file to be played anywhere. Any judge worth their bribe would throw the book down and have sourceforge _and_ the programs creators behind bars before you can say right-to-appeal.
Look guys just remember that if you 'break in' to a computer system and use its search system to the tune of $300000 (even though its not actually costing the victim much except an annoyence) your gonna go down like the bad ass terrorist-criminal you are and i dont wanna meet you in a dark ally! On the other hand if you just stick to minor crimes like assult and maybe carrying a concealed weapon, a little bit of theft and the odd speeding at 150 down the road past a school at home-time, you'll only get a little bit of a sentence you scally-wag!
So remember minor violent crimes: ok, minor computer crimes: OMG YOU DIRTY TERRORIST ANTI-AMERICAN EVIL HACKER YOUR GOING STRAIGHT TO HELL WHERE YOU BELONG AND DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT A FAIR TRIAL, OR EVEN _ANY_ TRIAL (skilarov 2001) YOU BASTERD YOUR WORSE SCUM THAN A RAPIST!!
just to clear things up: stabbing someone repeatedly: ok, DMCA violation: going to hell.
They basically broke the law, it doesnt matter if the law is total crack induced bullshit invented by fuckwhits while they did their morning shit and had a smoke, its still the law, and unless you want to arm bears and rise up against the US government (which is supposed to be your right or something) then you just gotta get your DMCA violating source code from an off-shore ISP or get sourceforge to relocate.
Or you could take the government to court for violation of the bill of rights? or even better create a new encryption protocal which is trivial to break and start sending 'spoof' terriost type messages around the net with various automated scripts until the feds crack it, then take the fbi to court. Didnt kazaa try and sue the RIAA for violating their network?
This is a good idea because it will demonstrate to the general public exactly what DRM means. While its totally up to them to buy this (and aslong as its clearly advertised) it will show them how media can be controlled by telling a device what to do. Maybe when more harsh controls come in - such as "you cant record this" the public will think "hey wait a minute, why cant i buy a box that can record anything? what gives anyone the right to tell us what we can and cannot buy?"
oh i am! i never leave the house without my bullet-proof vest, my front door is checked for termites atlease twice a day and my cat is paw and retina scanned before i allow him in! Not to mention that i sleep with 2 magnums under my pillow and an M16 under the covers, and i dont hand-cuff my girlfriend for the kinkyness!
So you're saying instead of using 3 inch thick blast doors and a security sytem that could detect an ant trying to get in, we should just sleep with the windows and doors open.
They even spread IE to the mac! i have to get a site working on it and i have to say, its the most disgusting non-standards compliant browser ive ever seen! its 10 times worse than IE on windows, as far as im concerned it should be taken off the OS immeadiately with the next patch and anyone who isnt using safari already i will personally vist and whip them to within an inch of their lives using their own power cable.
So really both parties are sick racist basterds who fight over which race/colour has their vote, because ofcourse all people of the same race will vote for the same party! just saying "we have the black vote" should have atleast sparked some sort of media attention/debate. America is one fucked up country.
Im on for 50 that some senator will pass an emergency law making searching, viewing, downloading or even caching this file carry upto 20 years jail. I'd tend to agree with him on this one - you simply cannot have people encoding in windows media format, its just not right!
I think the choice of action the fedral government should take is pretty obvious:
1. Demand that all Diebold voting machines are recalled immeadiately and that Diebold refunds all states in full.
2. As a temporary measure, reinstall the previous voting machines/methods or simple cards in all states.
3. Assign a task force made up of experts in a wide variety of fields, ensuring that the group isnt biased towards any corporate or political parties. The general rule should be that the system is as simple as possible, only uses computers if it will actually provide an advantage, is open!
(obviously any corporate members will point out that its not fair that the system be open. This is one of the most important systems in the country and its vital for democracy that its open to the public to look at, if it isnt there is simply no way you can call the system democratic in anyway)
4. Given that the new system will be designed by geeks, it will require a fraction of the budget of Diebolds spagetti crap, donate the old Diebold machines to schools.
If Bush can go to war on a whim he can do this, and if he doesnt do this right now he is a dictator, its simple.
Unfortunately LCDs still suck ass at anything design/graphics related, theres no way to see the true colour or brightness of a pixel. So give your CRT's to your local graphics geek!
This seems like an ok idea as long as they dont take too many liberties, really its all about better browsers with more tools to help the masses stop annoying scripts. The reason advertisers take such liberties is because people dont care and will still buy a product that interests them - its exactly the same with sex - a girl/guy isnt gonna care if a hot guy/girl is being a asshole/bitch, they still wanna get off with them, don't tell me it aint true y'all.
which is why we need transparent encryption - when you send an email, the computer 'transparently' converts that email into packets and fires them accross the internet/isp whatever, you dont need to know how it does it. The same should be with encryption - there should be a standard so that when you send an email, your client first asks the remote mail server for that users public key, and then comes back and encrypts for you - if they dont have a key then it just sends it raw, it only needs to get the key once and it can cache it until it expires. This should really be part of email but corporations like microsoft will be bullied by the government not to do it, and if microsoft outlook doesnt have it, 90% of email users wont have it.
Music these days is so bad i dont even download it!! generic blur style bands, generic radiohead style bands, generic britneys, teeny-pop, pop-idol cover-singers thats all there is. That goes for DVDs too, remakes, sequals, adaptations, every single film, theres nothing original or worth watching! I say fine, blame the 'pirates' but in 3 years when you've sued every kazaa user in the world and sales are still going down, we're gonna want a 'sorry' and all our law-suit money back plus interest.
I fucking hate arrogent stuck up stars and producers i wish they would all loose their money and end up on the side of the road, unfortunately no ammount 'piracy' is going to do that.
No it means the owner of the site will be arrested for trying to show the world the insane stupidity and corporate greed involved in the current 'intellecul property'* world
the idea of a broadcast flag is a good one - there should be metadata telling you exactly what is copyrighted material, but it should be your choice if you want to 'break the law' and record it. At most gadgets should simply say 'it is illigal to record this material, are you sure you want to continue?' and let you choose. why should manufactures be forced to cripple their hardware? why should consumers be banned from buying/owning un-crippled hardware from overseas? this is a monopoly in so many ways - why should corporate sponsors have sole ownership of the governments policies? why should we live with this? America simply cannot call itself free or democratic at this time, and europe is just following allong.
Maybe they could change the charges to "Being an idiot and not encrypting everything!!" really it surprises me that people dont use encryption atall, all it would take is for a widely used program (outlook) to ship with encryption built in and turned on by default, all transparent, and we would have to worry about a thing. Well the same goes for pop-up ads - widely used browser incorporates decent on-by-default blocker, the advertising industry would give up.
Ok i know the world needs more food and medicine than anything else but we should send loads of these things to countries like china, iraq, america & cuba etc where there are oppressive regiemes in oparation, they could be used to capture countless numbers of human rights atrocities! isnt there already a vibrant community of people who will install linux for free on old pc's?:P
This should go for electronics too (especially items such as DVD players etc that have embedded software)

I think the saying means: girl A fingered girl B, or girl B fell on girl A's fingers, theres no difference, its still lesbian action.

I think Real Media will certainly be suing on that breach of their trademarks!

Web-cam equipped suicide booth anyone??

I dont know what sickens me more - that people flock to see this so much, or that they put it up in Windows Media Format!!
