    Ironic really that if you pay for music online you actually get something worse than if you got it for free, but then thats the sort of crack addict business idea id expect in a time when business ethics means "lets trick all those dumb consumers into buying locked down hardware" If they start selling 'mp3' players that dont actually play mp3's but only DRM'd formats they should have to make it damn clear on the front of the box.

    Terrorist = Witch

    Im wondering how long before we all get into a full scale witch hunt and how far it will go! It seems realistic that anyone with any computer skills above 'Excel' who doesnt belong to some software company will soon be branded terrorist, anyone who protests _anything_ is sure to join them and if you dont think [insert leader] is a wonderful person you better keep your mouth shut. Who thinks it will go as far as voting? with electionic voting coming in its going to be easy to tell who voted what, or to just fix votes, and once that happens, the only way to change things will be to rise up against the governments in some way, and that really will get you branded terrorist.

    Just remember, the fight against terror is a catch-all filter.

    I know lots of people who use mod chips to play legal? import games.

    Legal or not, you cannot ban mod-chips, theres simply no way. The chip itself is just a blank microprocessor (usually a PIC) which is perfectly legal, and the code which goes on it is tiny and you just cant stop a tiny file spreading around the net. As far as im concerned the moment manufacturers started putting restrictions in their consoles they decided to play by the game of technology and if they have the right to do that then you have the right to modify something you own.

A terrorist organisation known as the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry made an unprecedented, coordinated attack, simultainiously on 4 of our allies. This is a cowardly act but we will not give in. We know that various sleeper cells oparate around the world such as the IFPIG, DRIA, FIMI, CRIA and RIAA. We will work together with these countries and make sure that those that are resonsible are brought to justice! Acts like this are terrorism pure and simple and we will not live with it.

  20. Re:Perception is Reality on Study: MP3 Sharing Not Serious Threat To CD Sales · · Score: 1

    The RIAA is by far not the only distributer, if you want to get your music (that they turned away) out to people then the internet is there and affordable, filesharing can be used as mass distribution - if the song is popular it will spread. What the RIAA does to the most extent is use a formula and pump the music out to as many radio stations etc as they can, this is what gets people hooked to their reused, unorginal, repackaged melodies for a couple of weeks - enough time for them to buy it. Its every kids dream to be a pop-idol, why? because they want money, sex, and a feeling of being someone important, not because they want to make music.

  21. i'll say on Study: MP3 Sharing Not Serious Threat To CD Sales · · Score: 1

    I vowed never to buy a CD right from the start. In my view its no different from paying 15 for an icon (like in a recent story) And pricing CD's all the same just makes it even more clear to me that im buying a worthless piece of plastic.

    Very few 'artists' are worth that price, and what if i want to listen to a slightly crapper one?: Theres so much music out there that is just a copy of something else, or a generic sound that was probably based on a keyboards 'demo' button and some lyrics inspired by the words 'baby' and 'oh yeahhh'. Music like this has the effect of being catchy for 6 days and then getting boring, just think back to the last 6 months of music you've heard and you'll know what i mean. Now am i really expected to pay lots of money so i can listen to this until i get bored, given that the ammount of effort put into it is 2 hours in a studio? (it would have been 1 but the drummer threw up and the producer thought the singing needed more work).

    Now i wouldnt mind if i didnt know about a song - what am i missing right? but they are pimped out on all the radio stations, tv, and all the shops, i cant get away from being tempted and addicted to the sound! but im getting tempted and addicted to the same sound every time, its just re-packaged in a different way so ill accept it as new, but in reality, how many times do you hear the _same_ melody in a different form? and once a certain style catches on, how many others copy it to death (Sum 41, Busted etc..) all sounding exactly the same!

    The few bands that keep on the ball get good honest fans who will turn up to every concert and buy every album even if they can get it for free, the stupid generic people who have teams of writers to come up with that next catchy melody (well really just re-invent the wheel) they get lots of sheep who buy their music anyway and dont care, either way the industry isnt under threat.

An animated gif not only doesnt do anything useful, it looks shite and you can already see it for free on the site without paying for it. In reallity, if i was one of these girls i would think a guy who sent me a virtual ring was pretty hopeless but id take my cut from funhi for having my shots on their page.
