    I'd like to just point out that the whole issue - the RIAA, the intellectual property jazz, and whatnot - is nearly moot.
    It's not illegal (yet!) to learn to SING. Go find
    an old guitar and teach yourself some chords!
    Why does everybody assume music has to be made by mere paid troubadors?!

    Okay, I'm semi serious. I'm a brass player :-/

    Well, yes and no. This may be a harsh assessment, but it is only natural for Copyright Holders to want their heirs to not work so hard.
    Doesn't build character, however. If this is too "Brave New Worldy", though, yet, early U.S. lawmakers were truly worried about the 'fiction' of coporations having rights.
    It's an unnatural, possibly immortal entity. And it can own stuff! Disney owns Pooh!! But Disney's really dead too! Bring back Alexandar Hamiltonianism! Cheers! Bah, preview URLS?!

    As far as "The Enemy" goes, for most (all)
    industries, you usually have BOTH an CEO side
    lobby PAC and a related, mirrorlike, Labor
    Union PAC as well.

    So that should balance out? Eh?

    The thing to do is disallow DANGEROUS things
    like fixed-wing heavier than air industries; and
    encourage the helium lighter-than-air aircraft
    industry for a while. But I get the sense you
    are one of those Green guys, so you think that
    should happen with everyone being reasonable
    already...

    Presumably since Tipper Gore has some kind of psychological credentials, she should realize how imporant a sense of privacy is. And how that sense is impinged upon by knowing that you are probably being watched.

    So sure, AlGore, if he's listening to the right people has nothing to do with this (?)

    As for starting at the top, we've had a little of that already with Bill ;-)

    Sort of reminds me of how a young man named Dale Carnigie started acquiring info and dirt to begin building his fortunes...he was a telegraph messenger, and peeked sometimes at what he was entrusted to carry. At least, IIRC.

    The sociological purpose of business concerns gathering themselves into 'companies' is to utilize the strength of numbers, and variable skills of those numbers, and provide shelter if things come along to harm the business. Ahem.

    Hi, well, I guess I didn't install KDE during my
    First Ever setup. Need I re-install or is it just hidden out of the way of my switchbox thingie? Further Newbie note: They said I can run
    kppp from GNOME (pronounced G'nome) anyway, will I need to go use Linuxconf or something.

    Other than my newbieness-ness, RH60 and GNoME looks ok, of course I'm a techie-newbie, not a total one, so I knew how to mount and things which
    if I had not known, I would be rilly rilly confused. Had I not known unix already...
