Upgrading the OS would be wise as well, especially since we're fast coming to the point of end of support, April 8th 2014. Windows 7 and 8.x both improved security considerable, and there are other more secure options as well such as MacOS X and the other varies flavors of *nix such as Linux distributions.
Just because two notable names have made a big deal about it doesn't mean there aren't still plenty of such positions. Asking someone to uproot their entire lives and move across the country to benefit you with their extensive knowledge and experience for work that absolutely does not require your on-site and on-hands presence far exceeds "flexibility".
Sorry, no it doesn't exceed 'flexibility'. Sometimes one just has to go where the work is. Despite your assertion the trend is and has been for some time moving away from telecommuting. It's not just 'two notable names' say so. It's a real trend in many industries. Requiring to work remotely will seriously curtail the number of opportunities a job seeker can find.
No, that would imply an equal hatred of democrats. They are just as bad, just in slightly different ways. It would be more accurate and appropriate to hate all politicians.
Another reasonable approach from might be to task, "How does our service need to change, in order for our own employees to want to use it?"
That would be reasonable, but honestly they don't have to even do that. If the company says the new standard is X then everyone changes to X. That's a draconian way, and I like your suggestion better, but still, it's Yahoo's systems and standards. They can change them to use whatever tool they want.
I use one all the time. It's hard to get serial console access to a firewall, switch, or router without one when your laptop only has USB. So much for your smug know it not attitude though:)
Is that a bad attempt at a joke or did you just miss the obvious? The Earth was teeming with microbial life, some of which could quite possibly endure not just the trip but some of the conditions found elsewhere.
There's nothing stupid about it. I could have included the radio to TV transition as the primary media source if you want something more recent. Or perhaps the advent of cheap microwave ovens, or cable television vs. OTA broadcast. It's not my fault you were not able to grasp the point that new technology supersedes the old in many cases. It's called progress.
The USPS has not received any direct taxpayer money since the 1980's, with minor exceptions for delivery overseas (APO's, etc.) and for disabled services.
The main advantage of 64 bitness is access to a far larger memory address space. Yes there can be a few minor performance improvements with proper use of larger registers, but it's really not that big an advantage. Until smartphones and tablets start exceeding 4 gigabytes of RAM there is really not much point other than marketing to use 64 bit code on such devices.
The last disc won't be for a long, long time. Too many people like to collect them. It'll be years before they are totally superseded by digital downloads.
Yes, aside from the impressive 'reflexes' of the system and the speed with which it operates there really isn't much impressive about this. It isn't a win if it is cheating.

You might find this interesting. It compares several versions of BSD with Linux.

Yes it works great on Linux but I use it even with my Windows 7 laptop. Hell it even works with my Asus Transformer Prime.

Just get a USB to Serial adapter.
No don't you get it? The greenhouse effect is caused by farts not oil. We all need to start farting less, start with the cows.
We need to put strict controls on beans and other legumes before it's too late! Think of the children!
More like Linux doesn't follow the best practice recommendations of the standard when it wouldn't be all that hard to do so.
Is that a bad attempt at a joke or did you just miss the obvious? The Earth was teeming with microbial life, some of which could quite possibly endure not just the trip but some of the conditions found elsewhere.
They are pursuing both, and in fact the Power8 will support both GPU and FPGA accelleration add-ons.
Unless you have a Verizon or Sprint Nexus...
If you have one of those, you've been ripped off. Nexus aren't tied to carriers.
Or the AC in question has never touched a Nexus and is just trolling.
It runs. It's not fast, no, but it runs fast enough to actually play around with.
I didn't say it did, I was just pointing out that it was not just made up.
The term has been used in the IT security industry for years.

I am curious...
Before the 20th Century did the average person drive an automobile?
Before the Industrial Revolution did the average person have access to cheap, mass produced good?
Before the Agricultural Revolution, did the average person have access to plentiful grain?
Before the Paleolithic, did the average person have access to crafted stone tools?
Don't get me wrong, I'm just curious...
The last disc won't be for a long, long time. Too many people like to collect them. It'll be years before they are totally superseded by digital downloads.
But how do you get the sharks to hold still long enough to get a signal across???

You're either trolling or do not know many home schooled people. What you describe is a minuscule fraction of them.
Not even close. Think about it. The Union is NOT the TSA.
