well the above is totally false. my dell laptop dual boots linux and windows xp (it came with windows 98). my hard drive died. i sent an email telling them it died, and did mention that i run different operating systems than it came installed with. they sent me a new hard drive immediately, no questions asked.

my friend has the same laptop, and his screen broke. dell sent a guy out to fix it, and while testing it made the comment that he was very impressed to see the laptop running linux.

    so sorry =(

oh, and btw, our dictator is pushing us to war, not iraq's...and if you seriously think this war won't be for oil, which is the argument implied in the attack on SUVs, you need to wake up from your fantasy world.

actually i'm 20, and arguing over the internet has no purpose. i'm not going to convince you of anything, and you aren't going to convince me of anything. it doesnt matter if i point out how nice a configured windows xp box is, stability-wise and most importantly, quality software to run. i have used linux, still do, in concert with windows. i've been using linux for several years and am more than competent. i still prefer windows. although saying none of this matters because it doesnt change the fact that you prefer linux. thats fine with me of course, you can have it.

Occasionally adding a new motherboard requires a reinstall, but who gives a shit. I like to format when i upgrade my hardware anyway. In "Of the rings of power and the third age" in the Silmarillion, it explicity states that Sauron does ride forth, in the flesh, to fight. I forget why he did it in the movie, so if you're correct on that then PJ screwed up. But Tolkien says it's because Sauron is losing to the might of Gil Galad & Elendil's forces combined. So he kills the two captains, but is defeated in doing so, and that's when Isildur cuts the ring off with the shard of Narsil.
