    We can audit their records - they cannot change once on the blockchain so if something happens we can have a look. Transactions on the blockchain are auditable and tamper-proof. If every supplier has their own database it is difficult to say who is right - both of them can have some errors or blatant data manipulation.

    They can use public blockchains (Ethereum) so it is impossible to change records.

    decentralized systems can't be displaced because there are none - as you mentioned we are using a highly centralized ecosystem of apps - there is no decentralization these days. so it can get only more decentralized from this point - and it makes sense and is the right path. convenience is not always the most important thing. we are still working on the technology - it's a really difficult task and it wasn't possible to construct prior the invention and commercialization of blockchain

    it doesn't defeat the purpose - the price doesn't matter at all - bitcoin is the digital gold for other coins and it is bootstrapping the whole ecosystem. crypto is much more complicated than most people know about.
