Ha, your posts are truly an awesome display of knowledge. Hammering out the inconsistencies of the summary with breath taking facts that you possess about this specific place and this guy's attempts to learn about this area.

Oh wait, no you state nothing definitely anywhere in your couple of rants, peppering your insightful views with "probably", "perhaps", and then directly making up some self serving fact to support your early morning mental meltdown (e-mailed the geologist blah blah blah... wow, you have some nads to call someone credulous, you're the epitome of credulous... making shit up to support your own fact deficient rants).

As far as I can tell, the poster went to a professional to get some understanding of the area, professional says it's probably a sink hole, he later finds some rocks that he doesn't recognize, he posts to Slashdot for some insight (you know, part of a path to knowledge), and you direct him to an image of the moon and ramblings of migrating Mayans.

I think I'll stick with the guy on the early path to rock knowledge... you sir, scare me.

My guess is you DO NOT condone his actions (2nd time you mentioned this to keep the CIA, Interpol, and any other "BlackOp" related org off your butt), but don't mind skirting the fact that what he looked at (by TFA) was only valued at £475,000 (guessing U.S. $750,000). You would think a walk through the NASA network (by the article NASA is now a "military" complex...last I heard it was based on a civilian charter), would warrant something closer to national park vandalization penalties.

NASA is not a military complex (by the books anyhow), Gary McKinnon IS a British citizen and should be governed by U.K. laws, and if Gary is sent over to us via Club Gitmo as our elected officials apparently want, I want to see ALL Chinese citizens that (attempt to) break into our (U.S.) institutions sent over, also. --- We can do this non-U.S. Citizens can't we...'Computer and Internet Protocol Address Verifier' via the F.B.I. should do it...or is it only for U.S. citizens?

What?! China isn't our bitch and will send over it's citizens on our whim?

What the hell, hopefully we'll change our generalized ideals the next election.

I'd love to be able to bring a 3" screen to the back of some of our servers to watch the boot cycle without having to drag in a 15" monitor with a 15' electrical extension cord.

Maybe something like this is already available, but I haven't seen it, yet.

I have to agree with you. I've played a lot of multiplayer games since Tribes, and while the graphics have gotten (marginally) better in most of them, none of the newer games seem to foster the same team effort that Tribes did (I could be remembering it through rose colored lenses, though). The pace was excellent and I was able to run it on the original Voodoo 3D addon card. I'll definitely reload it now since apparently there's a server or two still running.

A full 8Mbs must've been nice back when ever that was. I've been using austin.rr for ~3years and it's been slowing down slightly over time probably due to additional subscribers. Last tests I ran put it at just over 2Mbs down and looks like it's capped near 350KB up.

If you're moving back for the 8Mb stuff, it's not here near 183 and Mopac.
