Ductless splits are great for retrofits where you dont have access to the ceiling space, but they are much more expensive that a conventional fan coil based split system. As well the ductless split system max out at about 1 ton of cooling (3.4 KW), a conventional split will go up to about 5 tons (17.4 KW).
In this case he seems to have access to the ceiling space so a conventional fan coil would probably be better and cheaper.
What you want is called split system air conditioning.
Outside you have a condensing unit that can sit on the ground or the roof, inside you have a fan coil. The two are connected via 50-100 ft of insulated copper pipe.
There is little ductwork involved, the fan coil sits in the ceiling space and simply recirculate and cools the air within the room.
Typically a configuration like this would run up to 5 tons of cooling, which is about 17KW worth of heat removed from your computer room.
If you need more cooling you can install more units.
Contact a local refrigeration contractor or refigeration equipment supplier for help, they are generally quite helpfull if they think they might get a sale out of it.
SCO's case against IBM has nothing to do with copyright. SCO is intentionaly trying to confuse 2 different issues
1) a contract dispute with IBM
2) alledged copying of UNIX code into Linux When SCO refers a million lines of code they are talking about code that is copyright by IBM and other unix licencees that SCO beleives should not have been added to Linux. SCO does NOT own the copyright to that code, and has admitted it publically. Even in IBM is found guilty of innappropriatly copying the code into Linux, SCO still will not own the copyright to that code.
By repeating there allegation regarding a million lines of code they are trying to strengthen thier argument for users to pay for licences. Nobody outside of SCO knows how much code they are claiming is copied from unix into linux.
So it is unlikley that the copied code issue will even be put before the jury.
The redhat deadline was Monday. News of the extention came out Tuesday or Wednesday. The IBM response was due Wednesday and news of the extention came out Thursday. No news on how long the extentions are.

Chicken Run
·
· Score: 5, Informative
I did chicken catching once when visiting relatives out in the country. I must say that chickens are very stupid.
Imagine a large barn with chickens covering the entire floor. As chickens are removed from the barn the remaining chickens do NOT move into the empty space, they remain packed together as the barn empties. There is no chasing involved.
The chickens do not react at all until you grab them by the legs, the most common reaction is to peck, scratch or shit on your hands. And it stank.
I do remember that I was paid well (for a 13 year old) for a few hours work and the farmers wife had a very nice breakfast ready for us when we were done.
A total of 44 million gallons of salt water a day is processed and all the salt is rejected to 19 million gallons of brine. Therefore the rejected brine has about 2.3 times as much salt as normal sea water. Since sea water is about 3% salt the brine would be about 7% salt. For reference the dead sea is about 32% salt.
"be advised that PCI-SIG will not tolerate coexistance
with your website in its present form."
This statement doesn't imply they would like it in any altered form either. There prohibition against any "confusingly similar designation" and there desire to host the list on thier members only site strongly suggests that they would not.
It says:
- Don't use the logo
- Don't use the trademark PCI
- Don't use any names using PCI
- Don't use "confusingly similar designation"
- Shut down your website
It also suggests:
- Create an offical database so that we can
host it on our members only website.
I don't think that Jim has gone off the deep end at all.
I dont even get the sci-fi channel so I cant effect the ratings even if I had a Nielson box. I discovered farscape about a month ago and am watching with the help of the p2p networks.
Not taken down and put into storage but destroyed with chainsaws and taken to the dump. Rebuilding all the sets would be very expensive, the ratings would have to be very good to justify it.
RedHat cannot impose a new licence on top of the existing GPL licence. Only the software that they create from scratch can they impose any kind of restrictive licence terms on.
A friend of mine had a summer job at Triumpf a number of years ago. Triumf is a particle and nuclear physics lab. One day he took the morning off to get some medical tests done where they injected him full of tracer isotopes. We he tried to go back to work in the afternoon he set off half the radiation alarms in the place just by walking through the front door.

Almost right. MySQL is free to use in a commercial application, its not free to distribute or embedd in a commercial application.
MySQL is dual licenced, and one of those licences is GPL. You can use mySQL for free anywehere and in any manner that conformed to the GPL.

So Tsu, on groklaw you complained that someone copied your post from Yahoo without giving credit.
Now I see you have copied my post from yahoo without giving credit.
The post of yours that was copied was certianly nore substantial but the principle is the same.

Or they could be refering to Australia only. since an Austrailian user group filed a "put up or shut up suit".
Found it.
Its not Pembrook Pines florida but Hollywood Florida which is near by.
Its Superpages listing is here (at the bottom of the list)
Unfortunatly MCCI is based in Ithaca, New York not Pembrook Pines Florida.
It looks like the wrong company.
"Sontag and Heise also presented some short snippets of source code that they claimed had been directly copied from SCO's Unix to Linux."
Can anyone identify the snippets of code shown?Anyone notice in the screen shot listed above most of the email is msn spam?

I certanly wouldn't want to do it for a living.
Actually the most popular phrase on slashdot is:
n : ???
(n+1) : Profit!
A little experimenting indicates that there are other resultions:
640 pixels (58 MB) and 320 pixels (17.4MB) are available.
There may be others as well, I didnt try many posibilities.
NEVER repeat NEVER argue with a pregnant woman.
The hormonal changes during pregnancy are 7 times the hormonal changes that cause PMS, so even if you win you will loose.
If this isn't a vaid reason to fork I dont know what is.
Yes I know what the date is.

LSB requires that RPM be available, it doesnt insist that all other package managers be removed.

Its not a bug, its a feature.
