Good info, thanks for the link. I thought better of my "not widely exported" after posting. However I standby my assertation that the M16 and breathrin are too pricey for most when compared to the soviet weaponry.
"Please, if you think western arms dealers don't trade in and supply these types of weapons you are extremely naive."
Really? How many M16's and M203's do you see insurgents using? None. They are not exported in any significant numbers and they're too expensive for most. By the way, which western arms dealer sells Soviet era weapons? Armorlite, Boeing, I don't know tell me.
I'm 38 years old and have owned at least a dozen lawnmowers from cheap residential push mowers to a 62" commercial zero turn mower. I have never seen a two stroke mower are these common in Europe? Two stroke engines do not have to be big polluters, new 2 stroke outboards are actually cleaner than their four stroke counter parts. Four stroke outboards and weed eaters are catching on for their quiet operation and use of use (no mixing).
"In a related step, I'd like to see 11 meters taken back into amateur radio as a band for an entry level, no test license. Other, better services exist to fill the need CB radio originally addressed and 11 meters would make a great place to get people interested in the hobby."
Outstanding idea! MURS is supposed to be the replacement spectrum but you can't buy the equipment that is type accepted for MURS. Radio Shack isn't even aware that the old business band radios thay still have on their shelves is suitable and insist that you must have a license to use them. By the way, who ever decided that 11 meters was appropriate for a radio service that is prohibited from communicating more than 150 miles?
I used the G4FON software in conjunction with CodeQuick and took elements 1,2 & 3 after a month of study. I'm now using the G4FON software to increase my speed. I'm able to copy 90% at 11 wpm.
I'm also from Alabama, Orange Beach to be precise. We had one helluva storm surge. It washed completely over Perdido Key and of most of highway 182 from Gulf Shores to Inerarity Point. Perhaps you are in Mobile, west of the eyewall? I could send some pics if you like.

Nope, he didn't claim he invented the internet.

The link you provided says "There is no scientific evidence to support this claim" (that mosquitos can transmit HIV). I didn't see any scientific evidence to refute it either. Considering the fact that mosquitos are known to transmit West Nile virus, malaria, encephalitis and dengue to name a few, don't you think it's just possible but hopefully unlikely that they could transmit HIV?

"Oops - there goes the justifcation for reserving bandwidth for ham radio."
No, it doesn't. Ham radio's strength is it's decentralized nature but you knew that and were just trolling.

I wish I had mod points.

I think you should file it. I and many others would support it.

No flame here.

"your only means of communications is a flashlight"
I can copy morse at 11 wpm by ear but not a single character by flashlight. Can you also copy by ear? How did you learn cw by sight?

Those are still commonly used on ham rigs. Half of them have those, the other half RJ 45's.

I like the VI like search. Just press / and the find dialog appears at the bottom of the screen.
"To talk live to a hot, horny girl, press 1."
What did she say?
I have half a dozen. First six to email me get them.
Yeah it's their fault for not being able to predict the future.
