I have used a Tablemate 2 with my laptop for a few years now... yes, you may have seen the infomercials, and i believe they have them for sale at BB&B... The height and desktop angle are adjustable, and there are two front legs configured so you can pull it up to you on the couch with the feet going under the couch. I find it pretty comfortable to use, although in a few years i think the heat of my laptop has caused the plastic desktop to warp a little... Check one out, you might like it!
Sure it can keep out dust and pollen, but what about animals? I suppose this isn't much of a consideration for many of the automatic door designs i've seen...
it seems to me like one could build a much cheaper cluster from parts...
i do see a definate advantage however; in 6 months when they're only 90th place on the list of fastest computers and they decide to sell each individual machine on ebay:)
i dont know where you read that "OGG is INFERIOR to even MP3", but the faq here clearly states the opposite of what you claim.
q: Does Ogg Vorbis sound better than MP3?
a: Yes, definitely. Naturally, we invite you to judge this for yourself.
q: Why is Ogg Vorbis better than the other "New MP3" codecs that are available?
a: Vorbis sounds better. Vorbis is open, so you're free to use it on your favorite platform. Vorbis doesn't have intellectual property restrictions to get in the way. And Vorbis doesn't just try to sound better, it tries to do things fundamentally better in all the ways that it can.
According to one entertaining office max employee, a few weeks ago I purchased a "2.4 Gigabyte" Cordless Caller ID phone...

I am happy to report that I DO CURRENTLY sync my palm IIIxe with the Kab (KDE address book) using kpilot provided with KDE since version 2 i believe. It is very functionaland adaptable. The documentation even caters to those wishing to create thier own conduits and interfaces.
I also use pilot-link for very convenient command line interaction with my palm.
I could be biased, but i these linux tools for palm transfers much more powerful than their windows counterparts!
I dont know about the legal ownership of the name brand tetris, but i can tell you for a fact that Mandrake since at least version 7.2 comes with a Tetris clone called gtetrinet that allows standard style, and network enhanced multiplayer tetris that is rather addictive...
I also do a fair share of recording projects on my Athalon 1.4, 256M ram, 60GATA100 Raid 0 and win98/2K. I use two relatively cheap sound cards, Aureal MX-300, and Ensoniq AudioPCI. both cards have a very low s/n ratio (although likely not as good as your (expensive?) tascam card). I wonder if you have tried using Ntrack Studio. I have used it for several year now and i prefer it to Cooledit Pro. It is extremely powerful while maintaining a very easy to use interface. It also supports directX and Cubase VST plugins. If you havent checked out this package i recommend it. I am thinking about buying a high quality sound card with at least 4in/4out. Any Recommendations?
oops. this story is about RC1. not beta does not equal final. check.
I can't find the download links for IE8 final on microsoft.com, only RC1... Any the only links with this story are the ads to download Google Chrome :)

hmm- i'm betting this 1 hour estimate doesnt include the time to plan, prep, and position the equipment in space to do the cleanup...

I too would appreciate pictures of this creation. I am intrigued by your approach.
