American Sweethearts wasn't meant to make you feel sorry for the celebs, it was to show you what happens behind the scenes of the crazy world of Hollywood. I thought it the flick was good and laughed considerably.
JP3: Did they have to make this one? JP2 was such a piece of shit in the first place why would they attempt to follow that up? JP1 was a masterpiece.
FF: Didn't see it, but heard it was great. I think geeks can be too rigid on technical issues, kinda like how trekkies get;).
Legally Blonde: This movie had all the makings to be the next Iron Eagle 3, but it suprisingly turned out to be a funny flick. I think the comparison between Silverstone and Witherspoon is unjust. Witherspoon is in another league of acting. See Election if you haven't. She has that character down to a T...and she turned what could've been a terrible movie into a good one with LB.
1) you pre-judged the website 2) look around the website before posting YOUR FUD. 3) I challenge YOU to show me/us sites that help newbies better than LNO, afterall you are the one that started this ridiculous troll post.
"But I'm only interested in hearing from people who are willing to do the legwork: tell me the specific pages you think are good or bad."
Who are you? I'm only interested in listening to people that leave their email address behind.
The author sent that to me in I guess some Word format. I tried editing out the ? marks, but I guessed I missed a few--I use pico. thanks for pointing that out tho.
I don't think anyone mentioned this and it seems some people don't know the difference between the two.
-restrictive stock: Stock holdings or owned stock. With restrictive stock you end up getting a certain percentage every so often at a locked price, ala stock options, but you actually own the stock from the get go.
-stock options: Locked stock price where you have the option to buy at a certain time, over time. Typically: 10% now, 20% a year from now, etc.
So yes stock options have value, but you have to purchase them. If you took stock options has a salary then you will be broke, because you won't have money to buy the stock options.
Stock options are sweeteners (golden handcuffs) not a replacement for salary.
1) earthweb didnt seem to promote the event well 2) there was a transit strike in NYC! 3) it was finals week for college students 4) other websites didn't seem to promote the event very well (although they had no obligation too--plus they may have been with a competing company?) 5) it wasn't billed as a linux convention, but as The Bazaar, which later people quickly scampered to put up linux signs all over.
1 and 2 are definitely the main reasons for the low turnout. To challenge what someone said elsewhere, the bazaar seemed to be originally aimed at the common user not the suit. however, the bazaar was opened up to the Ebusiness goers because the regular traffic was so low--then the suits poured in. However, many people ended up learning about and what Linux is--thats a good thing.
Despite the low turnout i thought it was a great show and that is my final answer.

based on what i've seen at LNO it seems that there is some buzz going around to newbies that Mandrake is the distro for them.
I highly recommend it to the emails i get as well, however, this buzz is obviously strong because the influx of new linux users seem to head straight for Mandrake.
Mandrake is faster than redhat and easier to install and comes with a few more apps. Redhat seems to have taken a hint with their newer gui install.
Mandrakes success is only good for redhat in the sense that as Mandrake grows so does Redhat. Im sure Redhat doesn't mind gaining more market share? do ya?:)
im trying to cater to the linuxnewbie both from the mac and intel side. actually, im trying to create a site for newbies of all unix related OS's...see if you can get some questions answered there. hope it helps. http://www.linuxnewbie.org
that they were going to the Phillipines for a major hiring of several programmers.

thats just my opinion of course and is the only game I ever play anymore.
I like Warbirds too--a paying online flight sim, but haven't played that in a long time.

BTW are you moderating your own posts?
how the hell did that get moderated up to 4?
you are a troll sir. your accusations of Linuxnewbie.org being a Microsoft Site is ridiculous.
Do you want me to post feedback from people that the site has helped?
Are you bitter about something?
The author sent that to me in I guess some Word format. I tried editing out the ? marks, but I guessed I missed a few--I use pico. thanks for pointing that out tho.
Hi, I'm Sensei. I started and run the website Linuxnewbie.org.
:)
We help newbies and help everyone use and get better with Linux. We create a positive cycle of learning where the community helps itself.
Call it a LUG, a think tank, a watering hole, whatever.
I just wanted to give some background on who the fsck Sensei is.
I don't think anyone mentioned this and it seems some people don't know the difference between the two.

If it keeps people safe from going to war face to face and risking their lives im for cyberwarfare.
Using cyberwarfare can keep events like Pearl Harbor from happening again.

actually it was more related to pinging a firewall till it goes down...then allowing easier entry.
what can you do about that?
(i guess ishould've phrased the original question better).
What can you do if your bombarded by constant ping attacks?
ford would actually get 8 domains by your count.
aston martin, volkswagon, audi, and volvo
Those graphics are straight outta Microsoft Word.
mostly.
