I'm all for supporting truly Free and independent software like Debian, but the problem of which release should be unleashed upon the general public?
Stable? Sadly, not an option due to its complete lack of support for modern hardware or moderm features. It's a marvelous example of what computing should have been in 1997.
Unstable? Far too likely to break at the next apt-get upgrade.
Experimental? Same as Unstable, but worse.
Testing? Probably the best bet, though still not recommended for production use by Debian.org.

I don't know your exact circumstances, but if you have an ethical problem with what your company is doing, and don't intend to change it from the inside, GET OUT OF IT NOW.
Too many people (Americans in particular I've noticed) are too concerned with looking out for Number One (tm). IMO, they need to take a step back and look at whether what they are doing is really beneficial to the society in which they want to live.
Any one rain drop doesn't think it caused the flood, no man is an island, etc.
Displaying goatse may be harmless fun, but imagine what would happen if we turned all of those machines into spam zombies.
Please don't ever say that goatse is harmless again. Your little experiment would have been much funnier (and less traumatising) if you'd used a pic like this.
He's just worried that high schools are sooner or later going to start telling their students to think rather than go with whatever corporate america tells them.
I regularly buy PC-based computers in large numbers and I have never bought a Dell. Never. Not once. Not even a little one. And only very occasionally have I bought Intel.
This decision is not going to affect me or many other PC users one bit.
Does anybody still take a word that says seriously anymore? All he ever does is troll for ad hits by saying something which will piss off one fringe group of computer geeks or another.
Honestly. Why ever link to that joker?
Now I'm confused. Are you talking about Dvorak, Ballmer or Gates?
Of course you don't really get any cost saving when sticking it out the window in your own car. The increased air resistance means the cars engine needs to burn more fuel to maintain the same speed, just so your wind turbine can convert that energy into electricity.
It would be easier (and probably more efficient) just to plug the phone into the cigarette lighter adapter.
You'd be better off relying on weather-related wind (or just run really fast, thus powering your phone by biomass).
great, except that every time a new customer connects to your site they will be greeted with an error message stating that the certificate has not been signed by a known CA and is not to be trusted.
In the time it would take to read and understand the warning and select "Accept this certificate permanently" the customer has already moved on.
mplayer -aspect 4:3
Not a problem
... who's going to be the first to torrent the trailer when it airs in a few hours?
EU Lobbyist: The Force is with us, Master Gates.
Hooded figure: Welcome home, Lord Ballmer. You have done well.
EU Lobbyist: I bring you good news, my Lord. The patent war has begun.
Hooded figure: Excellent. (smiling) Everything is going as planned.
Try joining it to an Active Directory domain.
Go on, try it.
2 days later, the original link isn't responding and all the torrents have been taken down.
How do you get this iso now?
Maybe, but it's a hell of a lot closer to Roddenberrys vision of Trek than DS9 or Voyager.

Okay, so introducing that element might appeal to lesbians and perverts.
But what incentive is that for the rest of us to watch it?
Record tv ratings for the O.C. that night.
People might actually want to watch it for once.

The asian mindset doesn't really understand the open source concept and would prefer reliable software with a strong manufacture behind it.
Well that eliminates Microsoft Windows as an option. But what else do they have that would fill that need?
Perhaps Linux backed by IBM. That gives reliability and a strong "manufacturer".

This is getting silly.
Seriously, if anyone here has downloaded the iso, torrent it pronto.

.. that they haven't changed the functionality of the Equation Editor.
This is one feature of OOo which is streets ahead of MSOffice Equation Editor, or even its big brother MathType.
It's just so.... nice.
Yeah, I know what you mean. Very handy for finding studs in walls when hanging pictures.
Does that mean my Vorbises will now be comparatively cheaper?
WTF is this article doing in the Apple section of Slashdot?
Oh, that right, everyone who uses mp3 online services uses iTunes and iPods these days [/sarcasm off]
All this from someone who has been psycho-analysed as "clearly is not suited to run England".
Gates baby, Microsoft is the one that's obsolete.
