Because it can be ported to as many platforms as we want to without waiting for the benevolence of the whizbang-antialiased-vector-animation-website-intr o-blinking-ads-with-sound overlords, several rendering backends will eventually be possible (OpenGL accelerated, albeit fullscreen flash animations are not an issue anymore with current cpus, but offloading processing to GPU is IMO a Good Thing®), there are actually a few good things made in flash, like Strong Bad , it will be a while until svg gets traction on the internet, and there are already SVG implementations going along which will not die (KDE, Mozilla, Gnome).

This way, less midichlorians means less power.

CDEx has some catches if you try to install it on Win2k or WinXP. if you include it, you'd bette also include the adaptec ASPI driver pack. BUT this driver pack has a bug, it forgets to add some registry entries.
There is a guy that fixed it, dont remeber the URL though, but the .reg file contains this:

Chapter 2. Communication between Client and Server

A technical description of the communication between KDE clients and the Kolab server follows.
    2.1. Protocols

The protocols were selected with the following criteria in mind:

proper standardization e.g. by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF, http://www.ietf.org) open standard in the sense of the term open source existing free software implementations must scale very well in general simplicity over complexity - in other words limitation to a small set of well-established and widely used protocols

This leads to the following choice of protocols used in the project:

    *

Lightweight Directory Access Protocol Version 3 (LDAP, IETF RFC 2251)
    *

File Transfer Protocol (FTP, IETF RFC 765)
    *

Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP, IETF RFC 2821), SMTP over Secure Socket Layer / Transport Layer Security (SMTP over SSL/TLS, IETF RFC 2246)
    *

Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP, IETF RFC 1730), IMAP over SSL/TLS (IETF RFC 2595)
    *

Post Office Protocol Version 3 (POP3, IETF RFC 1939), POP3 over SSL/TLS (IETF RFC 2595)
    *

Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP, IETF RFC 2616), HTTP over SSL/TLS (IETF RFC 2818)
    *

HotSync Protocol (this does not meet some of the above criteria but seems to be widely accepted and free implementations exist)

    2.2. Used File Standards

    *

multi-part MIME email as standardized by the IETF

  15. ARMAGETRON on What (And Where) Are The Classic Free Games? · · Score: 1

I have Searched and teste all the free 3D TRON lightcycle games I found (which are pretty much like ages-old nibbles). After all this, I found that Armagetron I the best one. The first one I met was GlTron, which I liked, but when I fount Armagetron, I got completely addicted. as of version 0.1.4.9, the game is very stable, but A.I. of the other lightcycles is somewhat unchallenging (stupid). But the game features networking, which makes it good for human vs. human games. Version 0.2.0-pre has improved a lot, making the game VERY challenging when playing aginst the A.I.
