  1. how could this be?......(sniffle sniffle) on Fiorina Says HP May Get Out Of The PC Business · · Score: 1

  2. Re:5 year programs on On the Differences Between MIS/CIS/CS Degrees? · · Score: 1

i was told by a friend (HR Manager) that a liberal arts undergrad (in CS) with a MBA will make you the most marketable (salary-wize) rather than pursuing a graduate degree in Computer Science. (you need to not only be a leader, but prove to HR that you were trained to be a leader)

  3. how it really is.... on On the Differences Between MIS/CIS/CS Degrees? · · Score: 1

A MCSE is to computing as what a MacDonald's Food Specialist is to fine cuisine.

MIS is for the CS students who can't hack it. ;-0

And if you're primary concern is being the most marketable, you'll most likely want to look into an MBA after finishing up the bachelor's degree.

A strong liberal arts undergrad will prove to the employer that you are a "jack of all trades" and the graduate degree will show that "you can master at least one of them"

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

if you have the extra rack space (lord knows i don't) and money to burn (ditto) I can see why someone of a less techie nature would be interested in this product.target_audience my instincts tell me to use old skool laptop with external drive and plug into stereo input for much cheaper. You see the size of that thing!?!!?! I can tell them where to stick it ....cause it's not going in my stereo cabinet.

  5. one too many page faults on EU Expands Microsoft Inquiry · · Score: 1

"Finally, because of the trial court judge's unusual and highly inflammatory comments to journalists and others during the latter portions of the trial, the appeals court has ordered the trial court judge removed from the case.

The trial judge had, among other things, stated the Microsoft founder Bill Gates' "testimony is inherently without credibility," and compared Microsoft executives with "drug traffickers.""**

** Perhaps our trial judge is a traditionalist techie with (pardon the pun) "roots" in Unix. Unless it's just general knowledge now to every Joe Schmoe that M$ is a "drag" after receiving all those page faults in the marketing dept. with their Excel spreadsheets.

I'm no foreigner so don't nuke me for what I'm about to say......... I would HOPE that our members of "US Intelligence" would be somewhat knowledgeable when it came to the topic of encryption. I am under the assumption that this bum's messages were not cracked by a government employee but rather some "cracker" with a trivial brute force method. From personal experience, only a small handful of people involved with the government would have the brain power to attempt such a feat. (let alone think they could get away with it scott-free.)

Now this is "military intelligence" at its finest.

I don't mind shelling out my hard earned sponduli for a quality product. The demo to Kohan was awesome and I'll be ordering my full-version in the next few days.
