>world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet
Boeing planes are developed using the public money of the largest tax base in the world. The American taxpayer subsidizes them through massive defence spending, with the explicit purpose of developing military weapons (example - F16s). The trick is that the research is retooled as commercial planes. No wonder Boeing is the biggest in the world!
This formula for massive subsidy of private enterprise benefits most of the Fortune 500 companies. Plastic, computers, aerospace, and many other industries are paid for by the American tax payer.
It's quite simply a state-directed economy, or more popularly known as the Military-Industrial Complex.
The modern-day problem is finding ways to justify to the public the massive security budget that powers the whole thing. The mythical commie threat is long-gone. What remains are regional skirmishes and guerrila-terrorism.
This is incidentally the true justification behind the ridiculous Star Wars programs being pushed by the security establishment. Massive expenditures, or rather subsidies to private enterprise.
Consider carefully what I am saying if you desire to understand modern-day economics.
What a reaction considering you know nothing about the international crisis that is the US. The UN classifies the US as a "rogue" state for a reason you know.
Darn right. The Pentagon, despite being hit, are jumping for joy at this new opportunity to spend money and kill things. Escalation is their favorite word.
Whatever terrorist group did this just condemned their nation to death. Trust me: the pentagon is delighted by this turn of events. One word: escalation!
In truth, the policies of the WTO and global finance have ravaged the economy of the entire world.
The pentagon (CIA) sponsors terrorists all over the world. They have killed thousands of human beings in the name of globalisation. This is a consequence of angering the world.
To those who have their head out of the sand, retaliation to US policy is enevitable. If you fear nuclear war, fight to have the US policies of hegonomy reversed before it is too late!
The idealogy machine is in full swing, however, so I doubt anyone will look at both sides any time soon.
All your brain are belong to us!

The objective is simple: to create a huge military-industrial economy based on public money. Powerful weapons are created, and can then serve foreign objectives. More importantly, military research spins off countless consumer product. The result is heavily subsidized, multi-national corporations (ie boeing), backed by the most powerful military in the world. Then, in the name of freedom, we intimidate the world into exposing their economies to foreign ownership.
Bush's inaugural speech mentions freedom. He proclaims that he will "fight for freedom - free enterprise, free markets". He is saying it bluntly!
1984 lays it all out:

Tell them to pay up, or bail. Companies are quick to dump employees to cut costs. Your services should go to the highest bidder, just as they will seek out the cheapest labour.
